New Year's hand-craft: master class Herringbone from rags for the 2015 contest, New Year's crafts by own hands
Beautiful Christmas tree made from scraps. To make the Christmas tree we needed:– scraps of fabric about the size of a handkerchief (chintz); – patterns; – threads, needle; – scissors; – sequins; – stuffing for toys.
The work was done together with my daughter. We cut out 15 triangles from scraps (the finished triangle consists of two parts, so there will be 30 triangles). We stitched them on a sewing machine so that there would be an opening on one side. We cut off the corners. We turned them out through the opening that we left and straightened the corners. We filled them with stuffing for toys and carefully sewed up the opening on the triangles. We cut out a pot for the Christmas tree from the fabric.
We stitched, filled and sewed up the hole.
Now we assemble a Christmas tree from these plump geometric figures.
There are 5 rows in the Christmas tree. The bottom row is 5 triangles, then 4, then 3, then 2 and 1.
We connect the ends of the triangles with each other with a needle and thread and sew on the sequins. After the tree is assembled, we attach the pot to it. And everything is ready.
This Christmas tree will be a wonderful decoration for a wall at home, at work or just as a gift.
