Create a rose from ribbons, two detailed master class with photo and description
One of the most wonderful pieces of jewelry ever givennature - flowers. And the queen of them for many centuries has been the rose. Almost every nation has legends about the rose. The ancient Greeks believed that the gods created the white rose when they saw the sea foam on the beautiful Aphrodite emerging from the waves. An Indian legend says that the goddess Lakshmi was born from a rosebud. Buddhists and Christians mention this beautiful flower. The variety of shapes and shades of this flower inspired artists and craftsmen to create all kinds of crafts in the form of roses. These flowers appeared on the coats of arms of noble and wealthy families, roses are cast from plaster, painted on pictures, embroidered, knitted. Beautiful roses are woven from beads, folded using the origami technique from paper and using the kanzashi technique from ribbons. This article is dedicated to the last option. Amazing roses from satin ribbon can be made in completely different sizes. Very tiny ones will become earrings or bracelet details, large inflorescences will decorate hair bands, brooches, as a decorative element will look great on a hat, handbag or belt. The first rose in the kanzashi technique will be quite simple and even beginners in this handicraft can make it.You will need:
- Satin ribbon, the color that you like;
- Tweezers;
- Candle or lighter;
- Burner;
- Transparent glue;
- Scissors.
First, you need to cut the tape into squares,number of petals. In this master class we have pieces of 5x5 cm. For one rose 7 petals will be enough, although if you want to make a more lush flower, you can take more. Now you need to fold the squares diagonally (fold line on top) and fix the bottom corner with fire for further convenience in work. Here is what happened.It is better to fold the very first petal tighter. Bend the right and left corners down (towards the melted one). Fold as for the "round petal". This is what you get.
The rose should not be very tall, so you will need to cut off a corner. It is very convenient to use a burner for this, but if you do not have one at hand, then use a lighter and scissors.
This is what happened.
All the other six petals can be rolled up not completely (see photo). Cut off the corner, as with the first petal. All the petals are ready.
Now you can start assembling the flower.Apply glue to the first, most tightly folded petal, as shown in the photo, and roll it up. It is better to do it tightly, because the core of real roses is always tightly rolled up.
The petal is done. Apply glue to the next one. Wrap it around the first petal. Depending on how tightly you fold the second petal, the rose will have a different degree of openness.
Similarly, glue the third petal. If you want to make a rosebud, it is ready.
If you want a more open rose, continue gluing the petals. Work with an overlap. Here's what you got.
If you want a large inflorescence you will need 20petals, 7 will be enough for a medium flower, and 3 for a bud. All that remains is to attach the leaves to the rose, although perhaps, according to your idea, it will be fine without them. The next rose made of ribbons will be more voluminous and folded a little differently.
You will need:
- Satin ribbon width of 5 cm (you can take a few shades);
- Candle;
- Transparent glue and PVA;
- A piece of cardboard;
- Cotton swab;
- Scissors.
You need to cut out templates for the petals from a piece of cardboard or thick paper. You will need a petal 6 cm high, 5 cm high and 4 cm high.Now you need to place them on the tape a littlediagonally and cut out the blanks. 20 pieces of large and medium petals and 15 pieces of small ones. For convenience and to reduce the time for cutting, you can fold the ribbon in several layers or put together the cut rectangles.
This is what happened.You need to melt the cut edges over the fire. Melt the relief tops of the petals with the front side up. Do not lower them over the fire too low, carefully draw the wavy edge so that it bends down. Now you need to cover one side of the cotton swab with PVA glue and wind more cotton wool.
Now cover the back side of the small petal completely with glue. Wrap it around the thick edge of the cotton swab.
Wrap all the small petals in the same way. Here's what you get.
Apply glue to the middle petals only on the bottom half and on the front side. Glue them, like the small ones, overlapping. All the petals should be at the same level. The rose has begun to bloom.
Glue the large petals in the same way as the medium ones.
Here's what we got. All that's left is to cut off the bottom part with the extra cotton swab, and the rose is ready to decorate your life.
