A simple lesson on knitting English elastic. In this master class we will tell you how to knit English elastic, and the corresponding diagram is also included.Among the numerous knitting patterns, EnglishThe elastic band is especially popular among beginners due to its simplicity and elegance. Compared to a simple elastic band, this pattern looks more voluminous, and the products themselves are more embossed and more lush. A similar pattern is usually used in the manufacture of scarves, but if you choose the right threads, then other products, such as berets or sweaters, will also look great with English elastic. Whatever product you choose, from the inside or the face, English elastic, like regular elastic, will be absolutely the same. Since English elastic is more lush and voluminous, you need to stock up on a large number of threads for it. At the beginning, loops are collected. The number of loops must necessarily be odd. In our case, 35 loops were obtained. Photo 1.
The first loop in each row must be the whole oneis removed without knitting, while the thread remains behind the product. This is done to create even edges. It is important to note that the last loop should be knitted purlwise, regardless of the pattern. Turn the 2nd row inside out. Photo 2.
We make one cape, then the whole loopis removed without knitting. We leave the thread behind the product, and knit 2 small loops together with the front side. Look closely at the illustration, where it is clearly visible which loops need to be knitted together - this is the cape of the previous row and the loop that we remove without knitting. Turn the product inside out and knit the next row. Photo 3.
Knit the 3rd row.Carefully knit 2 loops together from the front, then make a yarn over, remove one loop, and leave the thread behind the product. After that, duplicate the pattern from the 2nd row. For knitting English elastic, we provide a diagram that will make it easier for you to navigate. Below we give the designations of the loops for this diagram:
Basic face; Purl; Loop thatremoved without knitting; We make a yarn over “on ourselves”, and then remove the loop without knitting; 2 loops together on the front wall with the front side. When you knit a few centimeters, you will be able to clearly notice the structure of the English elastic. Photo 5.
Please note that the product needs to befinish correctly, otherwise the edges will be of different widths. Therefore, the final row of the product must be knitted as follows: remove a single loop in accordance with the pattern, knit two loops together, but do not make a cape. Such actions will help reduce the number of loops to 35, as originally intended. The English elastic is finished similarly to any other product. Photo 8.
