This master class with a pattern will teach you how to make your own felt toys.
The materials we will need are:
- felt
- napkin with a picture of a cheerful little lick of a suitable size
- a small piece of white cloth
- half-beads or small buttons
- thread
- thin silver cord
- PVA glue
- Super glue
- acrylic lacquer
- white acrylic paint
- sintepon
- a piece of foam rubber
The pattern of the toy can be copied from the computer screen by placing a sheet of paper on it. The height of the toy is 7.5 cm.Mix equal parts of PVA glue and whiteacrylic paint, diluting it with a little water if necessary. The composition should spread well on the fabric, but not be too liquid. We collect it on a foam sponge and evenly spread it on the fabric. Let it dry completely. The dry patch becomes quite hard.Cut out a drawing of a face from a napkin. Now mix PVA glue with water in equal partsparts and glue the napkin parts to the scrap with this composition. To avoid folds on the napkin, it is better to start gluing it from the center to the edges. Wait until it dries completely. We apply a protective layer of varnish to the glued drawing and dry it completely again. We take the felt and trace the “Baby” figure on it twice, but on one of them we trace the hole for the face, and on the other we don’t.Cut out both figures along the lines drawn. Also cut out the image of the face with extra fabric on all sides. We sew the hole with a loop stitch. For edging, you can use a contrasting thread (white looks good) or match it to the color. Place the image under it, align it and, holding the picture, sew it to the felt base. When sewing, insert the thread between the stitches of the buttonhole seam.We cut off the excess fabric, leaving a margin of about 0.5 cm.To hang the toy, take a thin silver cord, cut about 20 cm and sew both ends together.Sew the resulting loop to the seam allowance so thatthe cord on the finished toy could not slip out. Next, we begin to sew the entire figure with a loop stitch, leaving about 3 cm unsewn for stuffing. Do not cut the thread. Stuff the toy with padding polyester, using a stick or pencil in the work. Finish sewing, secure the thread. You can decorate your baby with half beads or embroiderthe whole snowflake figure. Small scraps of felt can be turned into a handbag - a decorative addition to the toy. For it, you need to cut out two pieces approximately 1.5 x 1.5 cm and round off their two lower corners. Sew them together, like the toy, with a loop stitch. We'll put a heart-shaped candy in the bagpolymer clay. To make it, take a piece of red plastic, knead it and form a volumetric triangle. Make a cut with a knife, give the plastic the shape of a heart. You can use a toothpick as a stick. That's it, the cute souvenir is ready. Instead of a string, you can glue a magnet to the back of the toy.
