Store shelves are currently fullall kinds of decorations. We can purchase hairpins, brooches, earrings, and necklaces for any occasion. Costume jewelry is becoming increasingly popular. Its quality and originality sometimes makes you choose it instead of a gold chain with a pendant. Firstly – because of the price, and secondly – because of its exclusivity. Not very long ago, brooches made of felt and simple metal zippers caught my attention. These decorations look very unusual and dignified. The idea of ​​making such a brooch simply haunted me. And now, finally, it happened. I will say right away that I experienced simply great pleasure from my work. I hasten to share this skill with you. The work may seem simple at first glance, but it is not. You will need perseverance, accuracy, and attentiveness. I suggest starting with something simple – "Orange" brooches.To make a brooch you must have:

• felt (preferably thick);
• scissors;
• thread under the color of felt;
• iron lightning;
• base for brooch;
• glue.

First, let's prepare the zipper.We cut the braid to the very teeth. They are exactly what we need. The cut edge must be singed so that it does not unravel and spoil the appearance of the product. Usually the zipper tape is synthetic, so this should not be a problem. Well, the zipper is ready to use.It’s better to take a longer zipper so that it’s enough for a whole orange and you don’t have to add separate pieces. I took 90 cm. Next, draw a circle with an inner curl on the felt. For drawing, you can use a white pencil or chalk.Cut out a circle and a curl along the contour. To prevent our zipper from being crowded, we cut off a little felt along the entire curl, creating gaps.We do a fitting. We thread the zipper along the entire curl.If everything is fine and nothing drags,Let's start assembling. We take a thread that matches the felt, mine is orange, and begin to carefully sew the zipper to the felt. When passing the thread through the teeth, try to make the stitches and intervals the same, then the stitches will look decorative. I stitched every 2 zipper teeth.We continue to sew the zipper along the entire curl andoutline of an orange. After this, we make another decorative turn around the orange. It should lie freely and be attached to the base only in two or three places.From the remaining zipper on the top of the orange we form a curl and fasten it with threads.We also cut out green felt leaves.During the process, I realized that using thick felt or cloth, it is quite possible to do without sewing, and secure the zipper with super glue. This is what I did using the leaves as an example.We decorate the leaves with embroidered veins.Glue the leaves to the orange.I think it turned out very lively and beautiful. This is what the inside looks like.Finally, glue the felt and the base for the brooch to the wrong side. Such a brooch can well decorate a coat orstole. My advice: if you are making a brooch from thin felt, choose some harder material for the base. Such a brooch should not bend, it should retain its shape.Thank you for your attention, good luck!
