A detailed master-class will teach how to sew a children's jacket for a boy with an applique
In this MK I want to tell you how to sew a sweater with an applique for a boy.We will need:
- terry cloth;
- fabric hem in color to the terry;
- scissors;
- thread in the color of the fabric;
- Strings strongly pronounced, very different from the color of the fabric (to make a note and easy to remove);
- paper for the pattern;
- sheet of white paper size A4;
- thermo-stickers;
- iron;
- board (I use a kitchen new board of small size).
Take your child's blouse and trace along the lineon the paper where the pattern will be constructed. Add 1-1.5 cm to those lines on all sides and cut out. Don't forget to cut out the sleeves separately. I skip this step and cut them out on the fabric right away.Now you need to sew the sleeves and the two parts of the blouse itself. I did this using an overlock, but if you don't have one, you can use a zigzag stitch.
Turn it right side out and this is what you should get. The jacket is almost ready. The most difficult and painstaking part is left - finishing the sleeves and the neck.
We cut off the rib fabric, stretching it well along the entire length of the neckline.
Sew the rib section in half and baste with bright threads.
We stitch along the basting and remove the bright threads. This is what should happen.
If you look at the front side of the work, it will look like this: one edge is sewn on and the other is free.
Now we take the free edge, fold it inward a little and baste it with bright threads.
The result is a neatly folded neckline.
We stitch along the edge of the basting and remove the bright threads.
We measure the fabric for the rib for the sleeves, stretching it well along the edge.
Sew the rib fabric face to face and fold it in half.
We baste the sleeve with bright threads.
We do this with both sleeves.
We stitch along the basting line. And remove the bright thread.
We turn the sweater inside out and this is what we get.
We have most of the sweater ready, the neck and sleeves are finished. Just a little bit left.
Now we measure the rib fabric for the bottom part of the sweater, stretching it well.
We baste with bright threads.
Sew and remove the basting.
We turn the sweater inside out and see what we get.
Now we take the finished sweater and the iron-on transfer.We choose the place where we want to stick it. We put a board inside the jacket (I bought a new kitchen board for cutting vegetables of a small size and always use it for these purposes). We put a sheet of white paper size A4 on top of the sticker, press it with a hot iron and hold it for a few minutes. Pressing well, we iron it. We remove all the excess and get such beauty.
