These cute owls are made using the Japanese crochet toy technique - amigurumi.When knitting such toys, you should followa few simple rules. Firstly, the very first toy should not be very complicated. Knitting requires patience and accuracy. And even using the example of creating such an owl, you can understand and feel the process of working on amigurumi. Secondly, toys are usually knitted with single crochets, in a spiral, for both sides of the loop, without using connecting posts at the end of the row. To mark the beginning of the row, be sure to use a thread of a contrasting color or a special marker. Thirdly, knitting should be dense. Therefore, when working, it is advisable to use a hook 1 number smaller than recommended for the yarn. Fourthly, when knitting, it is necessary to use the so-called invisible decrease. To do this, you need to pick up 2 loops at once only by the front walls, pull the working thread through them and then knit the two loops obtained on the hook together. And now let's proceed directly to creating an owl using the amigurumi technique. For work you need:

yarn in blue and pink colors (for example, Perkhorka "Children's novelty" - 100% acrylic)
a little white, purple and fine yellow yarn,
hook No. 3, No. 1.5,
scissors,

two beads for the eyes,
sewing needle and thread.

The owl's body is knitted together with the head from top to bottom. We start working with pink yarn. We collect 13 air loops and from the second loop we knit 12 single crochets.Then we go to the opposite side and again knit 12 loops. Thus, a circle consisting of 24 columns is formed.From the 2nd to the 5th rows (4 rows) we knit 24 loops in each. At the end of the 5th row we change the thread to blue. The 6th and 7th rows also consist of 24 single crochets.Row 8 is knitted as follows:3 columns, increase (knit 2 loops in the 4th column). Repeat this 6 times. As a result, this row will be 30 loops. In the 9th row, simply knit 30 columns, at the end, change the thread to pink. From the 10th row, we will alternate the colors of the yarn every other row. Do not cut the thread! In this row, knit 4 columns and an increase, repeating 6 times. This will already be 36 loops in a circle.Rows 11, 12, 13 (3 rows) are knitted without increases, making 36 columns in each. Do not forget to alternate the colors of the yarn!From row 14 we begin to decrease the loops:4 columns, invisible decrease – repeat 6 times. We get 30 loops. Row 15 – 3 columns, decrease – also repeat 6 times. 24 loops. From row 16, continue knitting only with pink yarn. The blue thread should be secured, cut and hidden inside. Knit 2 columns, decrease. Repeat 6 times – we have 18 loops.As long as the hole is wide enough, it is necessarystuff the body with padding polyester. In the 17th row, knit decreases through one loop - we get 12 columns. The 18th row consists only of decreases. We continue to do them until we completely close the hole. We fasten the thread and cut it. The owl's body is ready.Now we knit the wings with blue yarn.There is no need to stuff them. Make a slip stitch and knit 5 single crochet stitches inside it. In the 2nd row, make 5 increases – we get 10 stitches. 3 – 6 rows (4 rows) are knitted without changes – 10 stitches each. In the 7th (last) row, knit 3 stitches and make a decrease, repeating 2 times. We get 8 stitches. Fasten the thread and cut it, leaving about 20 cm. Sew the two halves of the wing together.We start knitting the eyes with white yarn alsoslip loop. Knit 6 single crochet stitches inside and tighten. Make a slip stitch and change the thread to purple. Knit 6 increases, getting 12 loops. Fasten the thread and cut, leaving enough length. Carefully sew beads into the center. You can also knit a small tail for the owl. At the beginning of knitting, leave a thread for sewing. Cast on a chain of 4 air loops and decrease in each turning row until there is 1 loop left. The main parts are knitted.We make a small tightening under the pink part of the body.Sew on the eyes and wings.Now it remains to knit the paws and beak - this isthe most painstaking work. For it we use thin cotton yarn and hook № 1.5. We begin knitting the paw by dialing 6 air loops. From the 2nd loop we knit 5 connecting posts, returning to the beginning of the chain - this is 1 finger. Again we dial 5 air loops and return 4 loops to the beginning - this is 2 fingers. The 3rd finger is knitted like the first one. We tie the fingers together with a connecting post and finish the paw with 2 air loops. We fasten the thread and cut it, do not forget to leave a few cm for sewing. We make a beak by knitting 6 columns in a sliding loop. Now this small circle needs to be folded in half and sewn.Sew the beak between the eyes. And the paws - at the bottom of the body so that the toes protrude outward.And the final stage is creating the ears. For each ear, cut 4 threads of the yarn used.And we secure them on both sides, in the corners of the head.We cut it to an acceptable length.And our amigurumi owl is ready!The owlets are about 6 cm tall (excluding ears) and they can flap their wings.And they look incredibly kind and sweet!It is very easy to make a Christmas tree toy from them if you attach a ribbon to the top of the head or knit a simple chain of 25 air loops.
