Well, what to do if you don’t know how to knit on 5 needles and don’t have the skills to knit on circular needles either? You can buy self-knitted wool socks from grandmothers at the market, order them from an experienced knitter, or knit them yourself! After all, beautiful and original spiral socks can be knitted on two knitting needles! And you don’t need to knit the heel of these socks! Well, this master class will tell you how to do it.For socks we will need:

• woolen or wool blend yarn;
• a little contrasting yarn for decoration;
• ordinary knitting needles;
• hook;
• needle.

So, let's start knitting. Let's cast on 62 loops on the knitting needles in the most usual way.And we will knit 10 rows with an elastic band 1 by 1, that isWe knit the first row like this: one knit stitch, one purl stitch. We knit all other rows, focusing on the pattern: we knit facial loops over the front stitches, and purl loops over the purl ones. purl.In the eleventh row we need to form fromelastic bands are our stripes. To do this, we will knit 4 knit stitches and 4 purl stitches. You should get 15 strips, of which 7 – with purl loops and 8 – with facial ones.Let’s knit 3 more rows like this: we also knit knit stitches above the knit stitches, and over the purl stitches – purl. There should be 4 rows in total. Here the stripes are already becoming visible.In the next row we will begin to shift our stripes inone of the sides in order to obtain a spiral twist. We move one sock to one side, the other – to another. To offset, knit the first 3 stitches.But we will knit the 4th front loop with a purl one. And three more purl stitches according to the pattern.Then again we alternate 4 knit stitches and 4purl, each time grabbing one loop from the adjacent strip and changing its pattern. At the end, we knit one loop with a front loop and an edge loop with a purl loop. Again we knit 4 rows according to the pattern. After 4 rows we make an offset again.At the next shift we knit at the beginning of the rowalready only 2 knit stitches, then 4 purl stitches and at the end of the row we will knit 2 knit stitches again. And again we will make 4 such rows. Then one knit at the beginning and three – at the end. Let's repeat it 4 times again. So, gradually we will start knitting with the purl loops, and all the knit stitches will end up at the end of the row. After 16, the strip of purl stitches will go back, and then the next strip of knit stitches. We knit this way until the sock length we need.When the sock is knitted of sufficient length, we beginform a toe. To do this, we will gradually reduce the loops from 60 to 7. Now, in order. In the front row we will reduce the number of loops in the strips, knitted with purl loops. To do this, we knit the first front strip as usual, shifting it by one loop. Then we knit 3 purl loops. And we knit the last loop, which should be a purl stitch, knit 2 together. And we knit three more facial loops. So, we will have three purl loops in a strip, and 4 knit stitches will remain.In the purl row, we equalize the number of loops instripes. To do this, we will again make decreases in rows of purl loops. We knit the front ones according to the pattern, but we will knit the first two purl ones together with a purl loop.Knit two rows with stripes of 3 loops. Then in exactly the same way decrease the stripes to 2 loops and after 4 rows - to one.Knit four rows (counting rows with decreases) with one loop in the strip. And knit together every two loops. On the needle you will get 7 knitting loops and 2 edge loops.Now we close the loops using a hook. You can close the loops in different ways, depending on what you are used to and what is more convenient for you.Now our sock needs to be sewn. For this, we use a needle and the same thread that we used to knit the sock.You need to make the seam as flat as possible so that it doesn’t interfere with wearing.We finish the seam, make a knot with the starting thread and hide both in the knitting.This is how unnoticeable the seam should look.Knit the second sock in the same way. You can leave them as is, or you can decorate them a little.We will decorate with decorative stitching and pompoms. We will make pompoms like this: wind 15-20 turns of thread of a contrasting color to the socks onto a ruler.Remove from the ruler and tie tightly in the center.Then we cut the ends on both sides. In total we will need 4 pompoms.We make a decorative stitch on the elastic of the sock with the same thread from which we made the pompoms. We leave a long tail for our thread.When stitching, you need to stretch the elastic of the sock a lot so that the decorative thread does not get in the way when putting it on.Leave a long tail on the other side.At the end of each tail, we will make knots from two threads, leaving 2.5-3 cm at the ends. We will tie the pompoms with these ends.We will tie the ends of the pompoms to a thread and make a bow.And we'll repeat everything on the other sock.That's it, you can give it as a gift or wear it!
