Nowadays, fans of traditions in Rus'are fond of traditional clothing. But now it is very problematic to sew such an outfit. Modern fabrics do not match the technology and tradition. Only certain knowledge and the preserved secrets of sewing Russian folk costume allow us to recreate the clothes worn several centuries ago.
And if you think that Russian folk costume- this is a sarafan and a shirt, then you are mistaken. One of the elements of the Russian national costume is the dushegreya. It is irreplaceable in the winter version of national clothing. And our presented dushegreya is made similar to the historical design.
For the dushegreya you need material for tablecloths130 cm long and 140 cm wide. The central line of the front half runs along the grain line. The central seam of the back half is on the bias (in the old days, along the grain line).
To create a pattern you need to measurethe circumference above the chest - this will be the top edge of the outfit. Next, you need to increase by 100 mm for assembly. In this case, we get c = 104 cm. Using the formula for the circumference c = 2Pr, where 2P = 6.3, we find the radius equal to 16.5 cm. Draw a circle. Move the front half 5.5 cm up. When constructing the lower edges of the suit, taking into account the desired length. For example, take 44 cm. Now you need to reduce the flare of the front half of the dushegret. Align the pattern (pay attention to the figure). With a given material width of 140 cm, the pattern fits. We make allowances for folds and assembly on the back half.
Then:• Decorate the edges of the front part.It is necessary to cut out all the details from the finishing material and lay interlining. Decorate the edges with braid. Make folds in the corners on the braid. • Lay interlining on the facing. Iron and stitch the decorative elements along the edges, not forgetting about the buttonhole. • Sew the central line on the back half. Iron the folds. Make a seam along the top and back. Pull tight and create a gather. • To make the straps, you need scraps of fabric that are 300 mm long and 50 mm wide, lay interlining. Decorate with braid.
The straps are attached to the back«frog», which is a one-piece trapezoid-shaped protrusion on the back half that improves the fit of the outfit and better fastening of the straps. It is better to cut out the «frog» right away. But if not, you can sew it on later. • Cut out two elements of the «frog». • Sew, checking that the width of the straps matches the holes on it. • Sew in the straps. Sew everything to the center of the back half. • Adjust the length of the straps, stitch them in the front. • Cut out the lining. Gather and fold. Attach the jacket with the lining, leaving holes. Make a cut for rounding, turn inside out and iron. • We sew the holes by hand. • We decorate the upper edge of the back half with braid.
