How to sew a penguin, a step-by-step master class, a pattern / Toys yourself, patterns, video, MK

Author: A splinter I have a girlfriend, a big fan of toys made by myself, in particular, penguins. And very soon she will have a name day. And I, of course, decided to sew a penguin for her as a gift. penguin made of cloth First of all, I went over all the variants of the proposedon the Internet, patterns and master classes for tailoring the penguin. As a result, none of them stopped and decided to make their own, exclusive. I want to share my idea with you.

Sew a penguin

We need the following materials:

  • white cloth for abdomen;
  • fabric yellow or orange for beak and paws;
  • dark tissue for the trunk and head;
  • filler (sintepon, holofayber);
  • pattern.

Operating procedure

  • The pattern of the trunk I borrowed frommaster class on sewing a rabbit hare, a little modernizing it. On white cloth we draw a pattern of the abdomen. Apply the workpiece to the dark fabric, puncture the pins and sew first the right half of the abdomen, and then the left one.
  • We put the workpiece inside the belly and draw the back line. We sew on the sewing machine, leaving a slit at the bottom. Cut out the workpiece, not forgetting to make cuts.
  • We cut out the beak and paws from the yellow flannel. The wings will be combined: the upper part - dark, the inner - light. Sew the parts on the sewing machine, leaving the top part not sewn, then cut out.
  • We pass to the most important part - sewing the head. Depending on the "age" of the penguin, you can increase the pattern (get a penguin) or decrease (adult penguin). All the details are transferred to the fabric and we cut out taking into account the allowance for the seam.
  • First we sew the side parts of the head to the nape of the head. Then we sew the occipital tuck and side parts together. In the remaining slot, sew the beak (manually, with the needle threaded forward).
  • We turn the workpieces and iron. All parts are packed tightly with filler. Slots in the trunk and wings are sewn with a hidden seam. All parts are ready, we begin the assembly.
  • First we sew the head and paws to the body, then the wings and tail. We sew all the details with a hidden seam. Eyes embroider French knots or draw with acrylic paint. We tie a scarf around our necks.
  • Here's a funny penguin we got,something somewhat reminiscent of Tux from Linuks. Which turned out to be very handy, since the girlfriend works as a programmer. I suggest you also at your leisure sew such a penguin to someone as a gift. Good luck.
