How to tie a ball on a Christmas tree crochet? Detailed description of the work process, the technique of mating and step-by-step photos
If you are one of those people whoprefer individuality and originality, even when decorating a New Year tree, you will definitely like this master class. In it I want to tell you how to turn an ordinary Christmas tree decoration, of which thousands are sold in shops and market stalls, into a stylish New Year's decoration using a few skeins of yarn and a hook. In fact, this is not at all difficult to do, so even novice needlewomen who have already mastered the basic basics of crochet will be able to cope with the job. A little patience, perseverance and your exclusive decoration will be ready!
Materials and tools for work
So, to make a crocheted Christmas tree ball, we will need:
- plastic Christmas tree ball of medium size;
- viscose ribbon yarn of three shades (in our case it is blue, pink and black);
- Crochet hook;
- small mother-of-pearl white beads;
- sewing needle;
- reel strands of the right color.
Description of the stages of work
1.To give this extraordinary plastic Christmas ball some personality, we will tie it with fancy yarn. In addition to the Christmas tree decoration, you can use any other object that is suitable in shape, size and weight (it should be light). A plastic ball from children's dry pools, a small rubber ball, or a simply formed foil ball is perfect for this. We start by casting on the first color of yarn, ours is black, in a chain of four chain stitches.
2. Next, we close the collected chain into a ring and tie it in a circle with single crochets, so that we get a knitted piece that resembles a flat circle.
3.We also tie the next row in a circle with single crochets, only to ensure that the part evenly increases in size and does not deform, from each column of the bottom row we knit two columns of the top row at once.
4.Now we turn on the yarn of the second color, ours is pink. And we also tie it around the third row in a circle with single crochets, making uniform additions so that the part does not deform.
5.Depending on the size of the ball that we undertook to tie, the number of even rows to create the base of the figure may already be enough, or, as in our case, another one may be required. We also perform it with additions, black yarn.
6.From the next row, to repeat the shape of the ball, we need to knit our workpiece without any additions. We put blue yarn into the work and knit a row with it, carefully knitting only one double crochet from the top row from the bottom row.
7.Next, in the same way, without making any additions or decreases, but by knitting strictly one column with one crochet from each column of the previous row, we knit two more rows – one is black, the other is blue. We try on our knitted blank on the ball, and after making sure that all the dimensions match and our original “case” fits well and tightly on the base, we continue to work.
8. We knit another black rad without changes, after which we thoroughly put the workpiece on the ball and then continue to knit on it.
9. Take pink yarn and knit it in a circle, making even decreases in the stitches, so that the “cover” exactly repeated the shape of the ball.
10.We knit the last two rows with black ribbon yarn. Here we also make uniform decreases so that the decor fits tightly to the base. Then we fasten the thread and cut off the excess. If you tied a Christmas tree decoration, not like we did, but something else, without cutting the threads right away, you will knit a loop at the base of the ball in the form of a chain of air loops, by which the decoration can be hung on a branch of the Christmas tree.
11. This is the stylish crocheted Christmas ball we created.
12.The crocheted Christmas ball can be left in the form shown in the photo above, or you can further decorate it with additional details. In our case, these will be flowers; we will also crochet them using yarn of the same colors as in the main work. We collect a chain of three air loops and close it into a ring.
13.Next, we knit three petals around the circle of the ring, each of which is formed according to the following pattern: 1 single crochet – 2 double crochets – 1 double crochet – 2 double crochets – 1 single crochet.
14. We knit the rest of the flowers using the same principle.
15.Using a needle and thread of a suitable color, we sew the knitted flowers around the center line of the ball, and decorate the middle of each with a small pearlescent white bead. Also, such decor can be glued using a few drops of super glue or a hot gun. In addition to flowers, such a knitted ball can be decorated in another way, embroidered with beads, covered with sequins and rhinestones, or stretched through the knitting loops in a circle with a thin satin ribbon and formed into a bow.
