In those regions where the autumn-winter period is characterized by a decrease in temperature, there is a need for warm socks knitted from yarn. When knitting the elastic of the sock, I used lilac faux wool, and for the rest of the sock I use yellow faux wool and purple acrylic with glitter thread. The main parts of the sock are knitted in two threads, which makes the sock quite dense and warms the baby’s feet well. These socks include a stockinette stitch, a checkerboard pattern and a pattern called “Polish rib”.

Stages of work

Children's socks are knitted with an elastic band, so we begin knitting by casting on 8 loops on four sock needles. We cast on loops with lilac yarn.The 2nd row is knitted with front loops in a circle.But from the 3rd to the 12th row, you should knit in this way: you need to alternate one front and one back loop, so that in the end you get an elastic band like this.The elastic band was 3.5 cm long, this is nottoo high and not too low elastic. Row 13 knit with face loops in two threads, that is, connect together the purple and yellow thread. Next we will knit patterns in these two threads.The checkerboard pattern begins with row number 14.Since there are 8 loops on each knitting needle, we knit 4 loops with purl loops, and the other 4 with face loops, and do this with each knitting needle. We knit the 15th, 16th and 17th rows with the same loops. The lilac thread can be cut. When the 18th row begins, we knit like this: we knit 4 face loops and 4 purl loops on each knitting needle. We knit the 19th, 20th and 21st rows with the same loops. The 22nd-25th rows are knitted as follows: we knit 4 purl loops and 4 face loops on each knitting needle. The shaft is completely knitted with a checkerboard pattern! The length of the shaft is about 4.5 cm.After the boot is knitted, it is necessarystart knitting the heel. Therefore, we remove the loops from 2 needles onto one stocking needle. We will knit only this one needle, we do not knit the other 2 needles yet. The 26th, 28th, 30th, 32nd, 34th rows must be knitted with purl loops. And the rows: 27th, 29th, 31st, 33rd we knit with face loops.Now you need to wrap the heel.Therefore, in the 35th row, knit 10 front loops, and knit the 11th and 12th loops together, there should be exactly 4 loops on the knitting needle on the left side. The 36th row - knit 5 purl loops, and knit the 6th and 7th loops together, 4 loops should remain on the knitting needle on the left side. The 37th row - knit 5 front loops, and knit the 6th and 7th loops together, 3 loops should remain on the knitting needle on the left side. The 38th row - knit 5 purl loops, and knit the 6th and 7th loops together, 3 loops should remain on the knitting needle on the left side. The 39th row - Knit 5 front loops, and knit the 6th and 7th loops together, there should be 2 loops left on the knitting needle on the left side. Row 40 - knit 5 purl loops, and knit the 6th and 7th loops together, there should be 2 loops left on the knitting needle on the left side. Row 41 - knit 5 front loops, and knit the 6th and 7th loops together, there should be 1 loop left on the knitting needle on the left side. Row 42 - knit 5 purl loops, and knit the 6th and 7th loops together, there should be 1 loop left on the knitting needle on the left side. Row 43 - knit 5 front loops, and knit the 6th and 7th loops together, there should be no loops on the knitting needle on the left side. Row 44 - knit 5 back loops, and knit the 6th and 7th loops together, there should be no loops on the knitting needle on the left side. The heel is ready, and therefore you can start knitting the foot of the sock on four knitting needles.I suggest tying the foot like this:in the upper part there will be a pattern called "Polish elastic", and in the lower part, that is, the sole - front surface. However, first you need to dial the loops that are missing. Therefore, in the 45th row, distribute the loops on the knitting needle on which the heel was knitted onto 2 knitting needles, that is, 4 loops each. Add 4 more loops to these loops, as a result you will get four knitting needles, each of which has 8 loops. 46th row - we proceed to the pattern "Polish elastic". We knit 1 purl loop (abbreviated in the text - purl), 3 front loops (abbreviated in the text - knit), 1 purl, 3 front loops - knit like this until the loops on the 2 upper knitting needles run out, knit the 2 lower knitting needles with face loops. Row 47 - knit 2 purl, 1 knit, 3 purl, 1 knit, 3 purl - knit like this until the loops on the 2 upper knitting needles run out, knit the 2 lower knitting needles with face loops.Row 48: knit 1 purl st., 3 knit stitches, 1 purl stitch, 3 knit stitches – knit until the loops on the top 2 knitting needles run out, knit the bottom 2 knitting needles with face loops. Row 49: knit 2 purl stitches, 1 knit stitch, 3 purl stitches, 1 knit stitch, 3 purl stitches – knit until the loops on the top 2 knitting needles run out, knit the bottom 2 knitting needles with face loops. Row 50: knit 1 purl stitch, 3 knit stitches, 1 purl stitch, 3 knit stitches – knit like this until you run out of loops on the 2 upper knitting needles, knit the 2 lower knitting needles with face loops. Row 51 - knit 2 purl, 1 knit, 3 purl, 1 knit, 3 purl - knit like this until you run out of loops on the 2 upper knitting needles, knit the 2 lower knitting needles with face loops.Row 52 - knit 1 purl st., 3 knit stitches, 1 purl stitch, 3 knit stitches – knit until the loops on the top 2 knitting needles run out, knit the bottom 2 knitting needles with face loops. Row 54: knit 1 purl stitch, 3 knit stitches, 1 purl stitch, 3 knit stitches – Knit until the top 2 knitting needles run out, knit the bottom 2 knitting needles with front loops. Row 55: Knit 2 purl, 1 knit, 3 purl, 1 knit, 3 purl – Knit until the top 2 knitting needles run out, knit the bottom 2 knitting needles with front loops. Row 56: Knit 1 purl, 3 knit, 1 purl, 3 knit – Knit until the top 2 knitting needles run out, knit the bottom 2 knitting needles with front loops. Row 61 - knit 2 purl, 1 knit, 3 purl, 1 knit, 3 purl - knit like this until the loops on the 2 upper knitting needles run out, knit the 2 lower knitting needles with face loops. Transfer the loops of the 2 upper knitting needles to one knitting needle, and do the same with the lower knitting needles. Now we will knit the toe of the baby sock with lilac thread.Knit rows 62-67 as follows:knit with face loops, at the beginning and at the end of 2 knitting needles it is necessary to knit 2 loops together to finish the sock. Tie the last loop and put it inside. Cut the thread. Put the remaining threads inside the sock with a hook. Using the same pattern and observing the color of the thread and patterns, you need to knit the second sock. These socks will fit a child with a size 20 foot. The baby socks are ready. They are very warm, comfortable, thick and beautiful.
