How to tie an owl crochet toy, photo, diagram, master class / Toys with own hands, patterns, video, MK
It is not difficult at all to knit such a cute Owl.
We prepare materials
- 2 hooks measuring 2.5 mm and 3 mm;
- yarn 100 g / 50 m. 1 coil of the primary color, a little white yarn for the eyes and orange for the beak;
- 2 eyes - pupils, you can buy them at any craft store;
- filler (sintepon or holofayber);
- thread and needle stitch details.
Advice! For knitting a toy, choose 100% cotton or acrylic.
If you took a yarn thinner or thicker than recommended, then knit with the crochet that is indicated on the skein of yarn. Reduction:
- VP - air loop,
- SBN-column without a crochet,
- SSN - a column with a crochet.
Let's start knitting an owl:
Sequence of work
Eyes: With white thread and 2.5 mm hook, cast on 4 VP, close into a ring. Knit 5 rows according to pattern 1.
1 row: 6 sc.2nd row: make 6 increases evenly. You get 12 columns 3rd row: make 6 more increases evenly through each column. Knit 2 more rows in the same way according to the pattern. The first eye for the toy is ready! Knit the second eye using the same principle. In front of us are 2 small circles. In the center of the circle we will insert plastic eyes-pupils. If you could not find them, then you can get by with black beads, we sew them to the resulting circles, the toy will not suffer from this at all. If you find this lesson difficult, here is a very simple version of a crochet owl:
Let's continue working on the body:With the main color thread and a 3 mm hook, cast on 4 VP, close into a ring. Row 1: knit 6 sc, then divide the circle into 6 wedges and in the following rows add 6 sc evenly (Diagram 1). Knit 9 rows like this. In the 10th row, you should get a circle of 54 columns. Rows 10 through 17: do not increase, continue knitting 54 columns. Row 18: evenly decrease columns every 7 sc. Knit without decreases until row 22. Now is the time to sew on the eyes for the toy. They should be located approximately between rows 8 and 17 of the body. Continue knitting the main fabric. Row 22: decrease 6 times every 6 columns. We should have 42 columns left. Rows 23 to 29: knit without decreasing. Row 29: make 6 decreases evenly, that is, every 5 columns. Row 30: make 6 decreases evenly, every 4 columns. At this stage, do not forget to insert the filler into the owl. Rows 31 to 32: knit without decreasing. Rows 33 to 36: make 6 decreases evenly in each row. Cut the working thread, sew carefully so that there is no hole left. The future toy will lie aside for some time. By the way, you can get inspired by other options for knitted owls:
Let's continue working, beak:With the main or orange thread and a 2.5 mm hook, cast on 4 VP, close into a ring. Row 1: 4 SC. Row 2: SC, increase * 2 times. Row 3: 2 SC, increase * 2 times. Row 4: 3 SC, increase * 2 times. The beak is ready. Stuff it with filler. Wings: With the main color thread and a 3 mm hook, cast on 5 VP and close into a ring. Row 1: 6 SC. Row 2: SC, 3 VP, dc, SC, dc, 2 half double crochets, SC, 2 increases. Row 3: With a contrasting thread, tie all the columns of the previous row with single crochets. Knit the second wing. Ears: With the main color thread and a 3 mm hook, cast on 4 VP and close into a ring. 1 row: 6 sc. 2 row: 2 sc, increase* 2 times. 3 row: 3 sc, increase* 2 times. 4 row: 4 sc, increase* 2 times. Knit the second ear. Assembly: The toy is almost finished. Let's start with the final assembly of the owl. Sew the beak between rows 15 and 19 of the body. Fasten the ears on rows 8 and 9. Next, sew the wings between rows 19 and 29, but not completely, leave the pointed end of the wing unsewn. And here is an excellent video tutorial on crocheting a funny owl: Crochet other toys:
