How to make a brooch made of polymer clay in the technique of knitting imitation, step-by-step photos of creating a brooch in the form of a heart with a button
Lately, fashion trends have become more and more commonturn their gaze towards hand-made jewelry. Distinctive and original, hand-made things easily and naturally enter the hearts of fashionistas. Of course, they cannot be compared with cold and indifferent jewelry to your beauty. Hand-made jewelry will warmly emphasize the advantages inherent only to you. They are for those who are not afraid to demonstrate originality and artistic taste. In this article, we will work with polymer clay. This is a wonderful material with excellent plasticity and a variety of colors and shades. We will make one of the most ancient jewelry from plastic - a brooch. This accessory came into being at the moment when ancient man threw the first skin over his shoulders. It had to be secured with something, pinned. The very first brooches were claws and fangs of animals, thorny plants. Today we will make a very original thing using the technique of imitation knitting from plastic. We will make a polymer clay brooch in the shape of a heart with a button.Necessary:
- Polymer clay (color entirely depends on your preferences);
- A little liquid polymer clay;
- Acrylic (can be glass) rolling pin or paste machine;
- Extruder;
- Shapes (in the form of a heart (suitable for baking) and for pugovichek (use caps from markers or any other detail);
- Hairpin-base under the brooch;
- Toothpicks;
- Acrylic paints;
- Brush;
- Matt lacquer for polymer clay;
Before you start working, you need tothoroughly clean the surface on which we will make our brooch. Polymer clay is very sensitive to fingerprints and debris. Now we knead the clay until it is plastic and soft and pass it through the extruder. Take a thin nozzle. We have noodles. Now we connect them in pairs and twist one pair clockwise, and twist the second pair of clay noodles counterclockwise. We need several of these bundles. A couple of clay threads should be left even.Now we take some clay and roll it out thinlylayer. This is the base. We take our twisted strips and lay them on a layer of clay so that we get a rusinok similar to knitted loops (somewhat similar to braids). We take a mold (in our case, a heart, but you can take the one you like more) and cut out the future brooch from our blank. To make the edges neat and even, take a few noodles and lay them out along the perimeter of the brooch. For beautiful joints, we cut the threads diagonally and smooth them with a toothpick.
Let's start creating decorative elements– buttons. To do this, roll out a layer of clay as thick as a real button (approximately 1 – 2 mm). Now you need to make a hole of a round shape. For this, you can take a bead or another small round-shaped detail. Then take a round mold of a larger diameter and cut out the workpiece so that our recess is in the center. Make holes in the buttons with a toothpick.
You can take a relief surface and lightlypress a layer of clay before creating buttons. This will give them a beautiful texture. Now take two very thin strips of clay and lay them out in the form of threads with which you sewed the button. You can do this crosswise or with parallel stitches, it all depends on your imagination. Drop some liquid polymer clay and attach the button. Send our workpiece to the oven. The temperature conditions are indicated on the clay package.
Now we cut out a square from a layer of clay,we roll it on a stamp or mold with a design we like. We put a pin on the cooled blank from the back side, apply liquid plastic to our square with a stamp and glue it to the brooch. This square acts as a "patch". We attach the second button and put it back in the oven. When the brooch cools down, you can cover it with acrylic paint. Carefully paint all the recesses. Now you need to wait a little until the paint dries a little, take a wet cotton pad (wet napkin) and wipe off excess paint from the brooch. You can even use fine sandpaper. Cover with matte transparent varnish and the brooch is ready.
