Jewelry plays a very important role in our lives.Even ancient people hung beautiful stones, fangs and claws of animals, shells and pieces of bone on themselves. They believed that this would bring good luck, protect from misfortunes and troubles. Another important role of jewelry is social. Men wore parts of animals they killed as a sign of belonging to hunters and warriors, shamans and leaders had their own jewelry. Of course, we should not forget about the practical aspect. One of the very first jewelry that was also useful was brooches, or their predecessors. As soon as ancient man began to wear something more than a loincloth, there was a need to pin, for example, cloaks made of skins. The first brooches were the claws of predators, parts carved from bone, and even thorny plants. Over time, people learned to process metals, the brooch changed. It began to look like a pin (fibula) and a buckle (agrafa). And finally they became what they are now – beautiful accessories that add a much-needed zest to the look. It is easy to buy a brooch in a store, but it is much more interesting to make it yourself. In this case, you will be firmly convinced that no one else has such a brooch. This article suggests making a brooch "Tender Orchid" from polymer clay.Plastic is truly uniquematerial for crafts. The ranks of fans of polymer clay jewelry are replenished every day, because the plastic has many colors and shades, a variety of effects, from glitter, metallic and pearlescent shine, to fluorescence. In addition, it is quite easy to use. There are many legends about the orchid. The Greek myth says that this flower appeared where the shoe of the goddess of love Aphrodite fell. According to Maori legends, orchids are rainbow fragments that fell on trees and the ground. Today we will make this queen of flowers. Materials for work:
- Thermoplastics (white, yellow and pink for flowers and green for leaves);
- A little red pastel;
- Acrylic paint of pink color;
- Wirewound 1 mm;
- Two molds, one for the petals of the orchid, and the second one for the petals;
- Hairpin-base for brooch;
- Stack with a ball;
- Stationery knife;
- Brush;
- Sponge;
- Roller (acrylic or glass);
- Vata.
Before you start working, you need tothoroughly clean the surface on which we will create and put on gloves. White clay is very sensitive to dirt. Petals. Roll out a layer of white clay about 0.2 mm thick. You can prepare paper templates in advance, according to which we will cut out petals from the layer. Their length should be no more than 2 cm. For each orchid, we will need 2 round petals slightly larger and 3 oval petals slightly smaller. Our orchids are of different sizes, so we will need 2 sets of 5 petals.Now you need to take a mold with a textureorchid petals and roll the petals on one side. Orchid petals are slightly concave, so take a stack with a ball on the end, place the petal on the sponge with the side with veins up and press lightly (see photo). Fasten the petals like a real flower. The core. We mold it from pink plasticine. Roll it out almost the same way as clay for petals. We will cut it out with a knife. Now you need to plan the pastel, a stationery knife will also work for this. Make sure that it crumbles "into dust". Take a brush and carefully apply the pastel, as shown in the photo.
We put our blanks on the sponge again and takestack with a ball and press down in the center. The cores should also be concave. Roll two ovals from two tiny pieces of yellow plastic and make longitudinal grooves with a toothpick or knife. Leaves. Carefully knead the green plastic, roll out into a thin layer. Now take a piece of wire about 6 cm long and wrap it in 1 layer of green clay. This will be the future stem. Cut out two leaves from the layer. One is about 7 - 7.5 cm long, and the second 3.5 - 4 cm.
We press our leaves to the universal moldfor petals. You need to bend the leaves a little lengthwise to get a central vein. Assembly. Take the base for the brooch and pin it to a sheet of thick paper. Stick on a small amount of green clay. Attach a large leaf lengthwise. Attach a small leaf to one end of the stem. Smooth the edges of the joints with a toothpick. Place the stem with a small leaf on top of the large one. Now we attach the large orchid to the end of the stem with the leaf, and the small one to the opposite side. Attach the cores.
To prevent our brooch from becoming deformed duringbaking, we put cotton wool under the petals. We bake strictly according to the instructions written on the package. This is very important, since unbaked clay will quickly collapse, and it is not even worth talking about a burnt craft. When our orchids cool down, you need to put dots on the surface of the petals with pink paint.
Our brooch "Delicate Orchid" is ready.
