So, to knit a coaster for a hot cup "Santa", we will need the following:

woolen or woolly woolen thread;
synthetic thread based on acrylic white and black;
ribbon viscose yarn of pink color;
Crochet hook;
scissors;
white, red, black floss;
sewing needle.

Description of work. 1.Let's start by knitting the main round part of the stand, for this we will need to take woolen or semi-wool yarn of scarlet color, knit a chain from it, based on 4 air loops, which we then need to close into a ring, using a connecting post, and tie it in a circle with single crochets.2.We knit the second row, like the first - in a circle with columns with one yarn over, so that our stand turns out flat and round, in this row we will double the number of columns, i.e. from each separate loop of the lower row we will knit two columns of the upper row at once.3.The 3rd row of the stand is again knitted in a circle with double crochets, increasing their number evenly so that the circle does not deform. Then we secure the working thread and cut off the excess.4.Now we take white acrylic threads into work, unlike the yarn chosen for the base, they are a little thinner, and perform an exclusively decorative function. We tie our detail in a circle with one row of single crochets.5.We also knit the next row with white yarn, we make decorative elements in a circle, in the shape of small fans, we use the following pattern for this - 1 single crochet - 2 double crochets - 1 double crochet - 2 double crochets - 1 single crochet.6. This is the beautiful blank we get.7.Next we need to knit the arms of our Santa Claus, to do this you can take a red yarn a little thinner or use the same. On the back side of the main part of the stand, stepping back from the decorative white edging one row, we fasten the thread and knit 5-6 loops with single crochets.8. Then we knit the knitted columns in the forward and reverse direction with three more rows of columns with one yarn over.9. One felt boot is ready.15.We will knit the second felt boot according to the already familiar pattern, only in the opposite direction, so that the toes of both feet "look" to the sides. We will put the resulting blank aside for now and start making Santa's head.16.To make the head, take a pale pink viscose ribbon yarn, form a ring out of it, tie it tightly in a circle with single crochet stitches and thus get a small flat circle, the future face of our fairytale hero. Following the first row, tie the second one in a circle, making uniform additions of stitches so that the part does not lose the desired shape.17.Now let's take white acrylic yarn, we will need it to create one of the main attributes of Santa Claus - the beard. We begin to tie half of the resulting circle-face with small arches following this pattern - from the 1st loop of the bottom row we knit one single crochet - from the next loop of the previous row we knit 2 columns with one yarn - then from the next loop of the previous row 1 column with two yarns - from the next loop of the previous row 2 columns with one yarn - and from the next 1 single crochet.18.Now, without cutting the threads, we knit a chain consisting of 10-12 air loops and attach it to the opposite edge, where we started knitting Santa's beard - this will be the beginning of his hat.19. Knit the chain in the opposite direction with one row of double crochet stitches, and you will get the edge of the hat.20. Next, we include the scarlet yarn in the work, knit the first row of single crochets with it, trying to simultaneously capture the base of the head.21. We will make the next row with columns with one yarn over, and to make the hanging part of the hat, we will form six columns with yarn overs at once from the last bottom loop of the previous row.22.To form a pompom, we again include white yarn in the work and knit 5-6 double crochets at once from the last loop of the hat and connect them into one loop. The head in the headdress is ready.23.To make the moustache, take white yarn, wind it on a large stick in 8-10 turns, then remove it from it and tie the resulting skein in the center. Cut all the layers of thread on both sides and slightly "trim" the resulting moustache, thereby giving it an attractive appearance.24. Using white floss or a spool needle, sew the mustache onto Santa's face and embroider the nose with red floss.25. Embroider the eyes with black floss.26.
