Construction of a pattern for a bonnet for newborns andsewing a product is not something complicated. The process is quite simple, although it requires some effort. There are several basic options for a product pattern. But if you think about it a little, it can be simplified. This option is especially suitable for those mothers who are not experienced seamstresses, but who want to provide their baby with a headdress sewn by hand. Bonnets for a newborn baby are an important and necessary element of his clothing. They perform both a practical and aesthetic role. The practical role is to protect the baby's head from hypothermia and fontanel injury.
Today you can buy it in storesdifferent models of bonnets. But it is much more pleasant to make them yourself. First, you need to make a pattern for a bonnet for newborns. We will choose a simple pattern for our product. You can see it below. In this case, we need to cut out three parts. Two of them are side ones, and one more part is the middle part of the product with a fold. We will cut out all the parts without allowances. Considering that the head size of each baby is different and tends to change with his growth, the values proposed in this pattern will need to be adjusted during work.

First, prepare the fabric - wash and iron it. Next, transfer the pattern to the fabric and cut out all the necessary details of the product. The cuts of the bonnet should be on the outside of the product, otherwise they can cause injury to the delicate skin of the baby's head. Now we need to sew the middle part of the bonnet to the side ones. Do this alternately. The seam width is five millimeters. It is necessary to overcast the seams. To do this, you can use an overlock, a sewing machine, or do the overcasting manually. We can overcast the lower edge or make an edging. To the upper edge of the baby's headdress, you need to sew a ribbon or strip of fabric prepared in advance. This will create the edging and ties. Make sure that they are not too short and wide.
You can also make a simpler pattern.For this you will need any baby clothes with a hood. We outline the hood of the product - this will be the main part. Then you can add a visor, ruffles and other details that will decorate the cap.
