Embroidered ottoman from the drum of the washing machine
So, the washing machine has outlived its life andcannot be repaired. Don't rush to get rid of it completely! Hidden inside is a valuable part for future use - the drum! In addition to original lamps, you can make your own bright ottoman from a washing machine drum with an unusual finish - embroidery.Lebanese design duo “Junk Munkez” are hard at workworking to transform the city's rubbish and trash into modern furniture. In particular, broken washing machines are disassembled into parts that are used for various crafts and interior accessories. In general, the process of turning a drum into an ottoman looks like this: the drum is removed from the machine, the rubber seals are cut off, thoroughly cleaned of scale and dirt, and polished with a grinder. Then you can start painting. The bright colors are already transforming the drum. But when decorating the ottoman, the designers didn’t limit themselves to just paint. Symmetrically located holes on the surface are an ideal matrix for embroidery. As a result, each ottoman from a washing machine drum was embroidered with multi-colored threads based on the ethnic patterns of Lebanon.
The internal cavity of the ottomans serves as a place forstorage of all sorts of small things, which is very convenient. A round soft pillow was placed on top, and small felt feet were attached to the bottom so that the edge of the drum would not press through the carpet and leave marks on the floor.
Very beautiful and unconventional, but it’s just confusingOne thing - are clothes clinging to the convex perforation? Still, you shouldn’t bring your washing machine to the point where you can only make ottomans out of it.
