To make the most festive tree we needYou will need: 1. Sisal of any color. You can find this unusual material in handicraft stores or in a florist's shop. About 30-40 grams of this material will be needed for a Christmas tree 35-40 centimeters high. 2. Also prepare transparent glue. with which the sisal will be fixed to the base, and the decorative elements will be glued to the soft hair. 3. A blank for the Christmas tree. This can be a foam cone or take a large sheet of thick cardboard. 4. A string of beads in a contrasting color to the shade of sisal. The thread should be at least one meter long so that the beads can easily wrap around the cone and have a nice look. 5. You will need other decorations for the Christmas tree besides beads, these can be snowflakes, flowers or any composition. 6. Small diameter wire. which bends and twists easily.
At the first stage, you need to decide on the workpiececone. If you have a ready-made foam cone, then you can move on to the second stage. But if you have prepared cardboard, then you will have to tinker. On a sheet of cardboard, draw a circle, or rather half of it. The semicircle should have a radius of 30 centimeters, you probably will not find such a huge compass, then use two pencils, which need to be tied with a string of the desired length, that is, about 30-40 cm. Place one pencil in the center of the edge of the cardboard sheet, pull the thread that is tied to the second pencil, and draw a semicircle. Cut out the drawn part from cardboard. To create a cone, you will need to twist the part, slightly bending it at the point where the first pencil stood. The edges of the cardboard part are easily glued with the most ordinary glue stick or you can use hot glue, moment, etc. You will need to close the bottom of the cone with a cardboard circle. To do this, trace the bottom of the cone on a piece of cardboard, cut out a circle slightly increasing the edges by about 0.5 cm. Then cut the excess edge by 0.5 cm to get "paws", which need to be bent back, spread with glue and with their help the bottom will be fixed on the cone. When the cone is ready, we move on to the second stage. Now you need to lay out the sisal in one layer about 1 cm high. You can use a wider layer of material, but the appearance of the tree will hardly change, and more sisal will be spent.
Now we wrap the cone in sisal.All actions should be done in one direction, help with your hands to distribute the sisal symmetrically so that there are no gaps or places where the material lies very tightly and in a large layer. Roll the cone with both palms, but always in one direction.
To ensure that the sisal is securely fixed to the tree,In one place, squeeze out a strip of glue that runs vertically from the top to the base of the craft. Then press the sisal onto the cone. If you use hot glue, remember that it is very hot to the touch, so be careful.
You need to attach it to the top of the conewire about 15 cm long. If you have a foam cone - then simply sink part of the wire into the top of the craft, and if you are using a cardboard blank, then the sunken wire must be additionally fixed with hot glue. When you roll the cone in sisal, try to leave some soft fibers on the top, and then wrap them around the wire, which is just sticking up for now. Sisal hairs are easy to manipulate, so twisting them around a thin wire is not difficult. When the sisal is wound around the protruding part, only then can the wire be smoothly bent into a hook or an indistinct spiral. This tradition came to us from other countries, but many people really like this form of Christmas trees. When the sisal robe fits tightly, on the Christmas trees and the glue will harden, you need to move on to the next stage - this is creating decorations on the New Year's beauty. For this we will need a thread with beads. You do not need to select very large beads, it will be inconvenient to attach them to the soft fibers of sisal. It is also important to use threads with bright, saturated beads. These can be blue elements or red, raspberry beads, purple, etc. will also do. The attachment of the bead thread begins in the area of the top of the cone. It is necessary to leave the end of the decoration hanging for the top of the Christmas tree and begin gluing small elements in the form of beads from the place where the cone turns into a curl.
Next, we twist the thread in a spiral in the directionthe base of the cone. Each turn should be at the same distance as the previous winding. Try to keep a distance of about five centimeters. If you want to wind the beads more often, then first try on such a winding without glue to imagine the result. Each turn of wrapping should be fixed with glue, but only on one side. To do this, carefully apply a couple of drops of glue to 3-4 beads located nearby, and immediately press them to the sisal, slightly pressing the decoration.
At the foot of the tree you need to connect the end of the threadfrom beads to the beginning of the previous round, that is, to close the ring of round decorations. When the entire bottom is decorated, you need to return to the top of the craft and wrap the beads around the wire, which is already hidden in the thickness of the sisal. The edge of the beads should be glued exactly to the end of the curl, then the work will look harmonious. Often, decorations and beads are not enough and you need to add new elements. In this example, I used a flower made of ribbons, which is made with my own hands using the kanzashi technique. I also needed a medium snowflake and silver leaves.
First I glued all these parts together.First, I attached the leaves on top of the snowflake using glue, placing them in the direction of the arrows at 12 and 3 o'clock. Then I applied a generous amount of glue to the back of the flower.
Immediately lean the snowflake against the side of the tree and press the flower into the center of this composition. The hot glue will spread a little at this point and will securely bond all the layers of the decoration and the sisal fiber base.
It will take some time for the glue to cool and harden.just a couple of minutes and the tree will be ready. Here is the New Year's craft, made with your own hands.
