Bench on balloons

Bench on balloons

This leather-covered bench of the Japanese design studio h220430 seems to hang in the air with the help of bundles of balloons on the sides. But in reality it is an optical illusion. The answer is very simple: the bench is suspended from the ceiling by thin metal rods, posing as yarn balls. And the bright balls themselves skillfully mask the place of suspension on the ceiling. The design of the bench was inspired by the feeling of weightlessness and soaring above the ground, which the hero of the old French film Le Ballon Rouge experienced (1953).
