Both parts are initially knitted with an elastic band. The best choice is a 2 x 2 elastic band (front and back loops) or 1 x 1. This elastic band has good density and suits any chosen pattern. In order to knit the elastic band, you will need thinner knitting needles than for the main fabric (one size smaller). This is done in order to make the elastic band denser, then it will fix the product well on the hand. We collect loops in an amount that will be equal to half the width of our palm. After the cuff, knitted with an elastic band, is ready, the knitting needles should be changed to the main ones and knit to the beginning of the little finger. If you are just starting to master this type of needlework, it is better to knit with a regular front surface. Having reached the required length, we begin to decrease the loops. In the front rows, at the beginning and end of each of them, you need to remove one loop, knitting the first two and the last two together. If the toe needs to be triangular, then there should be two loops on the knitting needle, if oval - eight loops. You need to close with front loops. The palm part to the thumb is knitted in the same way. Next, we divide the fabric into four parts. We need to throw three of them onto an additional knitting needle or a special pin. To the loops that remain, we add the same number of loops with a thread of a different color as on the pin. Knit this part until it is the length of the thumb (the main color of the thread). We again transfer the loops to another pin. We take out our thread (additional) and the loops that have opened, add to the loops on the first pin. We knit to the end of the little finger and decrease the loops similarly to the first part of the product. The parts of the mitten are ready and you can start sewing it. First, sew the finger. Open loops need to be connected with a needle and thread and pulled tight. Then sew the whole mitten. We will knit the second mitten in the same way as the first. After everything is ready, you can decorate the finished products at your discretion.
