Straightening with your own hands
Может, у вас было такое, купила или заказала clothes, a top with straps or a sundress, and these very straps are a bit short. In general, the thing is suitable, even very much, but such a shame! A couple of months ago I bought myself pajamas - a T-shirt with thin straps and shorts. I love soft knitted things made of natural fibers. The price was, to say the least, affordable, very low, so I didn’t try it on. An unpleasant surprise awaited me at home! I didn’t call my friends in the hope that someone would find the thing useful. Cheap pajamas - not a mink coat or an evening dress "haute couture"! It’s a pity to throw them away or use them for rags. The most essential item of a woman’s wardrobe - a bra - gave me a brilliant idea. I decided to extend the straps! And not just sew on more pieces of stripes, but make them adjustable. So, to bring my idea to life, I bought four small metal buckles with crossbars (you can buy two buckles and two rings, the same color and close in size, I did not bother) and 1 meter of satin ribbon of a suitable color (my T-shirt has satin bows that will match the ribbon). Such buckles are sold in fabric stores, they are plastic, metal, multi-colored, different sizes and shapes (in the shape of hearts, for example). Satin ribbons can be replaced with bias tape, which are sold in a large variety, or, if the texture of the fabric or color does not suit, you can make it yourself. Sequence of actions 1. Carefully unravel the straps on the back, I sewed the buckles there using small pieces of ribbon.2. Next, I sewed the extendable tape to the original strap of the T-shirt and threaded it into the second buckle.
3. Connected the strap and the back.
4. The hardest part for me was pushing the tape through the bridge of the adjustment buckle.
5. Sewed on the ribbon.
Doing similar manipulations with strapsIt is very suitable for children's clothing. The child can grow taller during the season, but the dress still fits, except for the short straps. Today's assortment in hardware stores can inspire anyone, even someone who is far from sewing.
