A card for the teacher's day. Handicraft is not difficult for beginners.
We all love to walk in the autumn park and admirecolors of autumn and often, returning from walks, we bring home bouquets of unusual foliage. What shades you will not see in autumn leaves! You can create a variety of crafts from them. I suggest, having done a little magic over the leaves, making a beautiful autumn postcard for Teacher's Day. Since the postcard is small in size, we choose small leaves. They can be dried in different ways: in a book, in a special press, or simply ironed. The last method is faster, and we will use it. We will iron the leaves not through a newspaper, but through light paper, so as not to leave traces of printing ink. We check the condition of our leaves - a well-dried leaf rustles. When the sheet is ready, we choose the autumn leaves we like and make a sketch of the postcard. To create a postcard for Teacher's Day, we need: - olive-colored designer cardboard - for the postcard base (the folded postcard size will be 130 x 180 mm); - yellow cardboard - for the background on which the composition will be created (you will need a slightly smaller piece - 120 x 170 mm); - some light, thick paper for pastels or watercolors; - a regular office hole punch and a decorative hole punch "Romashka"; - an embossing stick with a round tip; - a ruler, a stationery knife and scissors; - "Moment-crystal" glue; - bags for lamination (an iron will come in handy again); - watercolor pencils or an orange Distress stamp pad. First of all, we need to protect the dried autumn leaves from mechanical damage. And we do this using lamination. This operation can be done at home. We will need lamination bags (they can be bought in a fast printing shop, 1-2 bags will be enough). Open the bag and put the dried material in there. Iron it. In order not to spoil it (overheated laminate warps), iron it through paper as well. Set the iron thermostat to "silk". Check it against the light - air bubbles are visible.
We turn the heat up a little more and move the tip of the iron closer to the contours of the sheet.
We cut out the laminated leaves along the glued part. It is most convenient to do this with manicure scissors.
We will create a postcard in warm colors, therefore, we choose olive-colored designer cardboard for the base of the postcard, and orange for the background on which the composition will be assembled. We will tint light, thick paper (I have pastel paper). And from it, using a hole punch, we will cut out “daisies”.
In addition, we cut out “daisies” from green paper.
To prevent the “daisies” from being flat, wewe give them volume. To do this, we go over the flower on a rubber pad with an embossing stick with a round tip from the center to the edges of the petals. Then we turn the flower over and emboss its center with circular movements. As a result, our flowers acquire a beautiful shape and volume. Then, on the back of the background, with a knitting needle, not a writing pen, we draw a double strip along each edge to get an embossed frame. Then we place our twig on the background and create a mask - we go over the laminated leaves and around with a stamp pad, while part of the background under the twig will remain untinted.
We are preparing more paper parts. We cut out the backing for the inscription, align the corners, and tint it. We can print out the inscription itself or write it ourselves. From olive-colored paper, we cut thin strips 0.5-0.8 mm wide (these will be the curls for the branches), and with a hole punch we make circles – the centers for the paper flowers.
We apply the laminated leaves to the background as in the sketch. We glue them, shifting them slightly relative to the mask. This will create a glow effect and visually add volume.
We also lay out flowers and curls. If you like everything, glue it. Let's see what we've got. We'd like to add some volume to the embossed frame - carefully go over it with a sponge.
Since the base of our card is olive colored, the same color should be added to the decor. That is why we made centers for flowers and thin curls from olive paper. Now we glue them, as well as the inscription “Happy Teacher's Day!” Almost done. It remains to make the inner design of the card. We use the remaining materials for this.
Now that's it. You can congratulate your favorite teacher with an unusual postcard with autumn leaves!
