Children's croche crochet: for beginners and not only

Children's croche crochet for beginnersExperienced knitters accumulate a lot in their binsa huge amount of leftover threads, which, of course, will still come in handy. The only problem is - there are more and more of them, and these balls of yarn are not "used" as often as we would like. We offer an ideal way to beautifully and, most importantly, functionally use leftover threads: a crochet baby blanket! It is so simple that even a beginner needlewoman can cope with knitting it. And this is a huge plus: when you are not yet confident in your abilities, you want to try something simple, but useful. For the birth of a child, our grandmother came up with such a blanket for us from leftover threads. In fact, at first it was planned to be a warm sweater for mom at home for the period when the heating has not yet been turned on / already turned off, and it is brutally cold outside - and at home, accordingly, too. Therefore, the blanket repurposed from a sweater turned out to be just super for the baby! We used it from birth, and until the age of one we used it quite actively, and later too - mainly as a rug. The peculiarity of our version is in the specially sewn lining (with a fold). This nuance gives a lot of advantages: the blanket can be washed in the machine, there is no need for a duvet cover that is constantly sliding down.

yarn of different colors and the same thickness;a crochet hook of a suitable size; sewing thread of any color - it can match the yarn, it can match the lining, you can play on the contrast; a sewing needle; calico or chintz for the lining; preferably - a sewing machine (but you can do without it).

Children's croche crochet for beginners: job description

Our blanket is a custom size (as you wish)(remember, the size was determined by chance, after all, it is a failed sweater). It is square: 105x105 cm. This size was very convenient for me: not small, and nothing extra gets tangled around the child. But if you want a standard one, so that you can put on a duvet cover if necessary, then please - make 110x140 cm. So, we knit a warm, beautiful baby blanket for children with a crochet hook. It is very easy to knit. To do this, you just need to be able to crochet a chain and single crochet stitches. That's it. We crochet a chain slightly shorter than the required length, then continue knitting with single crochet stitches. It is desirable that the threads are of the same thickness, or fold some in half. Alternate the remaining threads so that you get stripes. It is not necessary for the stripe to go from edge to edge: if the stripe changes color in the middle of the row, in my opinion, it is even more interesting. When the knitted fabric of the required size is ready, it must be washed. During the washing process, it will definitely stretch and acquire its final size. Unfortunately, it is impossible to say exactly how much smaller you need to make a baby blanket to get into the standard sizes: it depends on the properties of the threads and the knitting density. But if you do not plan to use a duvet cover (for our model this is not necessary), then there is no strict need to guess the size of the blanket. While the blank for the blanket is wet, dry it in a towel: lay out the knitted piece on a large towel, then roll them together into a roller. When the towel has absorbed the moisture, it should be replaced, and then lay out the washed blanket on a horizontal surface and dry it in this form. When the blanket is almost dry, you can finish drying it on a rope. Take a piece of light fabric (so that it doesn’t fade on the blanket), preferably chintz or calico. The first is thinner and more delicate, but the second is more durable, so choose for yourself. Cut out a square the same size as the blanket plus another five to ten centimeters. Wrap it like we did on the finished model and baste it.Crochet crochet for beginnersBe sure to baste! We iron the basting. We started stitching right away - it was skewed. And it was very unpleasant to rip off the complex seam, so I warn you against such carelessness. So - we mark, sew, iron again (ironing is generally a necessary stage of sewing of any complexity, the finished model looks much more attractive if all the seams were ironed in time). We admire the creation of our hands, kiss the baby and try the blanket on the child. Beauty, isn't it?How to sheathe the edge of a children's crocheted rugFor those who do not have any leftover threads in their anamnesis, and prefer to knit with knitting needles: buy children's melange threads. My finished knitted children's blanket turned out like this:Children's knitting plaid for beginnersI knitted a white piping along the edge and got tired of it.three balls, so far I have knitted a "kerchief" with a regular 1x1 elastic band. This blanket is small for me, only 80x80 cm. When the child was 2 months old, it was convenient to wrap and cover. At seven months, it only works for covering. We haven't gotten around to sewing the calico part of the arm, but I advise you to do so. Because if the yarn is fuzzy, all the fuzzy will end up in the baby's mouth.Children's knitting plaid for beginnersKnitting a baby blanket with a crochet hook - lessonfascinating and very simple. Since you don't have to count loops, you can spend some pleasant time in front of the TV doing something useful. Eva Casio specially for the site Previous article: Next article:
