They are the most popular types. There is also Russian satin stitch, white, satin, shadow, satin stitch without and with underlay. Depending on the type of satin stitch being embroidered, the embroidery techniques may also change. Today you will learn a new technique for you – the so-called “needle drawing on fabric”. Because satin stitch embroidery is often compared to types of fine art. To create beautiful satin stitch embroidery, you will need: a pattern for your future embroidery, which you can draw yourself or find ready-made in various sources. You can choose any embroidery you like based on the theme. But to begin with, we advise you to take a simple and easy-to-embroidery pattern – a flower. For example, a chamomile can become such a flower, the embroidery of which can decorate a pillowcase or a woman’s handkerchief. You can use cambric, calico, cotton or linen fabric as a base for embroidery. It is preferable to choose threads made of natural fibers, for example, cotton floss of the required colors. A mandatory attribute for a beginner craftswoman is a hoop. Its size will depend on the scale of your future embroidery. If the dimensions of your drawing are ten centimeters in diameter, then the hoop must be chosen with a diameter of ten - twenty centimeters. A larger hoop scale is acceptable, but in no case smaller than that of the pattern itself. This is explained by the fact that it is unacceptable to move the embroidery, because a piece of fabric with embroidery that gets under the hoop rim can be completely ruined.It is also necessary to prepare needles for embroideryshort, and the eye of the needle should be chosen with a larger volume than the standard one. We recommend taking a needle with a length of twenty-five - thirty millimeters. If the needle is longer than this suggested norm, you will experience inconvenience and difficulties during the embroidery process. When choosing the thickness of the needle, you also need to consider how thick your fabric will be. For dense fabrics, we recommend using a thinner needle, compared to its thickness for light types of fabric. To transfer the pattern to the fabric base, you need to buy a pencil. You will also need tracing paper. Using these two tools, you will need to transfer the embroidery pattern to the fabric using an iron. As a result, the pattern will be displayed on the fabric. Then, after washing the finished product, the pencil strokes will disappear. The pencil can be replaced with standard carbon paper.This completes the preparatory stage.Then we begin the actual embroidery process. We place the fabric base on a circle of a smaller diameter and clamp it with a circle of a larger diameter of the hoop. The pattern itself should be located in the central part of the compressed hoop. Then you need to straighten out all the folds of the fabric and stretch the fabric base as much as possible on all sides.When embroidering our flower it will workdouble-sided satin stitch, which is the easiest way of embroidery and is always easy to understand for beginner needlewomen. We will do the embroidery in 2 threads. We insert green floss into the eye of the needle. The chamomile has narrow leaves, which will be convenient to embroider. We start doing the embroidery from the upper corner of the leaf, using a slanting stitch (at an angle to the vein of the leaf, which is in the center). We do the embroidery only on one side. The stitches should look like living leaves. The loops should be made close to each other so as not to leave gaps.Having completed this stage of embroidery, it is necessaryreplace the thread with a light green color. Next, we embroider the second part of the leaf. The leaf is finished. We make all subsequent leaves in a similar way. We create branches using a stem stitch. In appearance, it looks like a lace. Small stitches should lie next to each other (as well as on the bias) and slightly overlap each other. We move on to embroidering the chamomile itself. First, we create the middle. For this, you can use floss of a yellow or orange shade. We recommend embroidering a round detail using the so-called "Russian" satin stitch with a lining. In this case, we stitch the core with small stitches in a circle.Then we make straight stitches vertically on one- two millimeters smaller than the size we made the core. Then we embroider the core of the flower with straight horizontal stitches, completely adhering to its diameter. The result is a convex-shaped ball, which is called a "doughnut".Such elements look very beautiful andimpressive. Next, we move on to creating the petals. Considering that the chamomile is white, it will look dull on a light background. When embroidering, you can fantasize. Don't be afraid to experiment. Try taking a light blue or pale pink shade as a basis for embroidering the petals. You can also try embroidering them with silk threads. And along the contour itself, process with darker floss.
