A classic dress is a sailor. Work of Nadezhda Yusupova
Hello! This is my first publication on the site, so partly the post is a "business card"! My name is Nadezhda, like the vast majority of visitors to the site, I love to knit (it doesn't matter whether it's a crochet hook or knitting needles). I've been knitting since my daughter was born, and that's almost 5 years, no less. Of course, in my distant childhood there were attempts to learn to knit, but I approached knitting consciously, with soul, with love, with trepidation precisely during my pregnancy. I present to your attention my recent work - "Classic "sailor suit". The marine theme has never left me indifferent (I think, like many others), so I "carried" the idea of a classic sailor suit. for a long time, I searched on the Internet, but I couldn't find anything like that, a pleated skirt, a collar, and all the attributes (a tourniquet, an anchor, a headdress). I was 100% satisfied with the result. BUT! I'm always ready for reasonable criticism.
Now more specifically about the dress, since I knitted it,what is called "from the head". The dress is knitted from the bottom with a 1.5 hook, using Vita Coco yarn. Initially, I dialed 434 VP and knitted sc (not in a circle). 12 folds of 36 loops + 2 loops. You can knit the alternation of stripes as your heart desires, I had the following: 4 rows blue, 2 rows white, 2 rows blue, 1 row red (front), 2 rows blue (front row), 2 rows white, 2 rows blue. Basic pattern: 1 row - dc, 2 rows - dc, VP, and so we knit the fabric of the desired height. Then we knit stripes with sc again and form folds, knitting 6/6/6 loops together towards each other. Thus, the fabric from 1.5-1.7 m turns into 50-60 cm.

When the skirt is ready, we start knitting the top.dresses, the basic pattern is the same. For those who see the dress, the first question is how to knit a skirt, so I described it in as much detail as possible. In fact, when I started knitting the collar, I also had to rack my brains. So, I knitted the collar in 2 stages. 1: I picked up loops from the center of the chest diagonally to the shoulder, and knitted sbn, forming an oval edge. 2: I picked up loops along the edge of the knitted part of the collar and the neckline at the back and knitted the required length down, stripes were also knitted along the bottom of the collar from the back. All the edges of the dress were additionally tied with a crab step. I also knitted a cap to go with the dress, but I think there is no need for a very dense description. Thank you for your attention. I am very glad to receive your comments and ratings. Author of the work Wait, loading…
