It is very easy to create such an option even for your child. It will be made of paper pompoms. The basis of your homemade tree will be a simple cone made of Whatman paper. To create an original New Year tree with your own hands, you will need:
The first step is to roll a cone out of the Whatman paper.This will be the base of your tree. The size of the tree will depend on the size of the cone, so if you want a large product, use several pieces of Whatman paper and make a larger base.
Next, we move on to creating pom-poms.For this you will need green and white napkins. They need to be prepared with the calculation that for each pompom you will need two green and one white napkin. Place a white napkin in the middle of the green ones. Fold them evenly corner to corner, as shown in the photo below.
Before this, all napkins must be cut intofour identical parts. We do this procedure with both white and green napkins. Then we put them in piles so that the white ones are in the middle.
The next step is to fold the entire layer of napkins into an accordion. In order to get an attractive round pompom, the napkins need to be folded five times.
Next, tie the resulting accordion in the middle with a thread. The color of the thread is absolutely not important, it will not be visible in the final product anyway.
Cut off the edges of the resulting accordion so that you get a nice corner. This is necessary so that your pompom will straighten out organically.
The next step is to straighten the accordion on both sides and separate each layer from each other. This must be done as carefully as possible.
The layers of napkins need to be separated from each other very carefully, they can tear very easily. Separate them from each other going from the edges to the base of the pompom, which is tied with a thread.
When one pompom is completely readyglue it to the base using a glue gun and see how much space it will take up. Based on this data, calculate the required number of products to fill the entire area of the tree.
Also, once you start attaching the pom-poms to the base, you will be able to evaluate how your future craft will look.
