Computer table from the piano
If furniture could talk, how much would it be?interesting stories about previous owners we could hear. Surely, an old piano could tell a lot about its musical life. But, alas, pianos fall into disrepair or simply cease to be needed and are thrown into the landfill. However, for someone an old musical instrument is unnecessary junk, and for someone it is a valuable find from which you can create a real masterpiece for the interior with your own hands. American designer Brandon, nicknamed Monk, has been working with wood for over 16 years. His creative carpentry workshop specializes in the use of recycled materials and old antiques. Therefore, Brandon could not pass by a discarded piano. As a result of his work, such an original computer desk made of a piano was born. The author initially intended to use a computer desk made of a piano for Apple products, so the color scheme was chosen in light colors to harmonize with the iMac and MacBook. The wooden frame remains almost completely intactuntouched, as well as the piano string mechanism. The designer deliberately left the strings "for a visual and auditory feast for the senses." All the keys were removed from the keyboard, and instead of them, carefully sanded with a grinding machine (like this one) blocks of wood of 5 different species were laid: cherry, oak, poplar, pine and spruce. This surface texture of the workspace resembles the original keys and harmoniously echoes the "musical" decor.
The seat of the bench is made in the same way, and can accommodate several children and adults.
A wonderful transformation of a musical instrument into an unusual computer desk made from a piano!
