Photo №1If you are familiar with the quilling technique, you alreadyYou probably know what unique crafts can be created using modern patterns based on the knowledge base of this type of craft. Today we will consider one of the popular options for quilling themes - creating popular animals using rolls of tape and a regular toothpick with glue. For this work, we will need special micro-corrugated cardboard, which indicates that the paper layers inside such a material are very light. It is easy to work with this solution and form a variety of shapes. It is very important that this cardboard is painted from the inside. Then, when cutting paper elements, it will not lose its color at the edges. When working with large parts, we will glue the strips of elements at the ends by 3-5 millimeters. If you overlap a little more, the connection will look too noticeable. It is imperative to pay attention to the fact that the smooth and corrugated sides of your strips do not get tangled up. If you cannot buy ready-made strips, you can cut them yourself from specialized cardboard. It is worth cutting such material with sharp scissors, and marking with a metal stick with a ball and a handle. Also, in this case, a mock-up knife or a regular ruler can help.

For work you will need this material:

They can be attached to voluminous cards, or make a box for a gift for Mother's Day, March 8 or a loved one's birthday. In addition, such a design element will perfectly fit into the decor of the room. We will need corrugated cardboard and special instructions for work. To make a butterfly, we will need 4 strips of corrugated cardboard of different colors. The size of each strip is 15 centimeters by 0.5 centimeters wide. There should be 28 such strips in total. And also 2 strips of black corrugated cardboard 10 centimeters long and 0.5 centimeters wide. + 1 piece 5 centimeters long and 0.5 centimeters wide.

Butterfly

To do this, apply a drop of glue to one end of the strip, on the corrugated side, and then attach the end of the next strip in a different color value on top. Attach the gluing place tightly. Next, connect the other strips in the same way. Lay all the strips outward on the corrugated side. Such blanks will have a value of 4 units. For each blank, the sequence of the color range is the same. Next, take one blank and arrange it so that its smooth side faces up, the corrugated side, respectively, down. Then, using scissors, shorten the strip to 6 centimeters. After that, make a cut for each next strip so that it is 1.5 centimeters longer than the previous one. After that, make the last strip in an unshortened form. Thus, we will get a ladder blank. After that, we shorten another blank similarly. After that, we shorten the last two, leaving the first strip 3 centimeters long, and we make each next one longer than the previous one by 1 centimeter. The last version of the strip will have a length of 9 centimeters. As a result, we will have two pairs of ladder blanks.

Wings

Then, bend a short strip from the loops and glue it to the place where the strips are already glued together in a bunch. Bend the next strips around the previous one and glue them to the tip, over the tip of the other. Repeat the procedure for openwork blanks with all the other ladders. Next, pinch the edge of the rounding in the large blanks. Thus, we made the upper wings for the butterfly. After, 2 smaller blanks will be our wings at the bottom. We leave them rounded.

Head

Afterwards, we twist it with a disk of a dense diameterstrip measuring 10 centimeters in length and 0.5 centimeters in width. Glue the end to the strip. This will become the butterfly's head. Then, take the next black strip measuring 0.5 centimeters in width by 5 centimeters in length, cut it in half, but not all the way through. Using a wooden toothpick, twist the trimmed strips. We get antennae for our creature. Next, twist another strip measuring 10 centimeters in length and 0.5 centimeters in width into a small, loose version of the disk. The shape of the disk is a long drop. This will become the body of the butterfly.

Finish
