Creating New Year's handicrafts in the form of snowmen, handmade soaps, candlestick decor ideas, a master class to create a fireless bonfire
One of the most beloved and anticipated holidays- it's New Year. The merry bustle and preparations for the wonderful day of the beginning of the new year captivate both adults and children. The feeling of the holiday gives rise to the desire to create something beautiful and magical with your own hands. In our article, we will offer many ideas for DIY crafts on the eve of the New Year 2016. Original DIY candlesticks Flickering lights on a winter night warm and create a magical atmosphere of a winter fairy tale. Small and large candles in original candlesticks made with your own hands will become a wonderful decoration for New Year's Eve, cute and pleasant gifts for loved ones. To create such magical crafts, you will need candles, imagination, inspiration, a little time and improvised materials that are in every home: strings, threads, glasses, jars, nuts, cinnamon and, of course, tangerines and even pieces of wood. In general, don't be afraid to show your full creative potential - any little thing can come in handy. The easiest option would be to wrap thick candles with cinnamon sticks, tie a ribbon and a truly festive and fragrant craft is ready.For the next candlestick you will need:
- Candles;
- Artificial snow;
- Glue;
- Jars;
- Cones.
It's all very simple - just put it in jarsartificial snow and candles. Apply a little glue to the edges of the jars and cones, cover with artificial snow and attach with sisal threads or any other material you like. For the next wreath-shaped candlestick you will need:
- Nuts (walnuts, forest, almonds);
- Circle base;
- Paint (silvery, golden blue metallic or whatever you like);
- Candles;
- Glue gun;
- Small Christmas balls (it is better to take old ones, which you do not already decorate with a Christmas tree).
Below is a detailed step-by-step master class. The main thing when creating such a candlestick is to leave room for candles.If you have birch or other logstrees, prepared for the fireplace or barbecue, with their help you can make a wonderful candlestick. For it, you will actually need only birch bark - the upper part of the bark, a glass cup and a candle. You can also use small logs whole. You will just need to hollow out or cut out recesses for the candles in them.
In a transparent container – a glass or a jar – you can add some water and various decorative details – berries, Christmas tree branches or flowers. Place a candle there and it’s ready!
These candlesticks will look especially good when made in quantities of three or more pieces, in identical containers.
Another great option for candlesticks is lace. You can knit openwork elements yourself or make a candlestick from ready-made ones. You will need:
- Balloon;
- Lace;
- PVA glue;
It is very easy to create such an openwork candlestick.Inflate the balloon and glue lace around about half of it. Leave it until it dries completely. All that remains is to release the air from the balloon and the candlestick is ready. Important! The candlestick should be large enough so that the candle flame does not touch the walls.From a fire safety point of view, it is better to make an openwork candlestick by pasting lace onto a glass cup with a candle inside.
Your home will immediately be filled with a festive aroma if you make a candlestick from fresh orange peel and cloves.
On New Year's Eve, everyone without exception expects snow.At the same time, those living in the warm southern regions of the country do not always manage to see snowflakes swirling in the air. In this case, we suggest making a snow globe with your own hands. Such a craft will definitely create a New Year and festive mood. Snow globe with a Christmas tree
You will need:
- A jar of glass with a tightly twisting lid;
- Glycerin or mineral oil (you can use a transparent cosmetic);
- Glue silicone (this is used in aquariums);
- Herringbone of sisal;
- Sequins or foam plastic crumb (to create snow).
First, we will make a Christmas tree with our own hands. Sisal is a plant fiber, quite coarse. We will need:
- Rope of sisal;
- Wire;
- Pliers (and still desirable drill and vice);
- Dyes.
The thick sisal rope needs to be cut intopieces. Now we disassemble the pieces into fibers until they are fluffy. When there is enough "fluffiness", we place our workpiece on a piece of wire slightly below the middle and bend the wire in half (see photo). Press firmly.Using scissors, we shape the workpiece into a triangle.so that the wire loop becomes the top of the tree. Now all that remains is to use the tools. We clamp the leg of the tree, consisting of two wire tails, in a vice. We hook the top to the drill and turn it on. The tool rotates and twists the tree, making it voluminous. The fibers are tightly fixed inside the twisted wire. If you don’t have any tools at hand, but there are people willing to help, then make such a tree together. Just clamp both ends of the tree with two pliers and rotate them in different directions. All that remains is to trim the crown of our tree with scissors. You can paint the craft with food paints, shoe paints with the addition of alcohol, or dyes for Easter eggs.
All that remains is to glue the tree to the small onestand and wait until the glue dries completely. Now take the lid of the jar and glue it to the inside of the tree. You can also attach a toy or any other decorative element. Pour glitter or foam crumbs into the jar and pour in glycerin or oil.
We take the lid with the Christmas tree and apply siliconesealant around the edge of the lid. Screw it tightly onto the jar and wait for the glue to dry. Turn it over, shake it and enjoy the snowflakes swirling around the tree. Another wonderful craft and a wonderful gift can be handmade soap. New Year's soap
This craft is not only beautiful to look at.Various essential oils and other skin-friendly ingredients are added to handmade soap. In addition, soap making can be done together with children. Children can imagine themselves as real wizards brewing a magic potion for the beauty and health of their skin, or luminaries of chemistry inventing a cosmetic innovation. You will need:
- Soap base 100 g (sold in shops for needlework and soap making, it is transparent and matte white);
- Oil base 1 teaspoon (skilled workers use natural useful oils: sea buckthorn, olives, almonds);
- Natural food colors;
- Essential oils for aroma - about 5 - 7 drops (since we have New Year's soap, we make it with a pine aroma);
- Molds in the form of New Year's details (Christmas trees, snowflakes, asterisks, etc.);
- Additives at will (these can be dried herbs, coffee grounds or even sparkles).
You need to cut the soap base into small cubes and melt it in a water bath. You can use a microwave. Important! The melting point of the base is 70 °C, so do not overheat it.Now add the base oil, essential oil, dye, herbs and mix. Pour into molds and wait until the soap hardens.
Venetian Party Mask
New Year is party time for everyonedirections and themes. One of them can be the Venetian carnival or masquerade ball. Such an event cannot do without a mask. In order for it to suit your outfit and harmonize with your image, you can make the mask yourself. You will need:
- Plastic form in the form of a face;
- Mass for modeling;
- Rolling pin;
- Scalpel or clerical knife;
- Pattern (will be proposed below);
- Acrylic paints;
- Details for decoration (sequins, rhinestones, feathers, beads, etc.).
We cut out a template for the future mask from thick material.paper. Roll out the modeling mass thinly into a layer of about 3 mm. Apply the template to the layer and cut out the blank with a scalpel. Now place the blank on a plastic base, make two holes on the sides for the ties and wait until it dries completely. This will take about a day. Do not dry the product near heating systems - this may lead to deformation.
After the workpiece is completely dry,can be painted using acrylic paints. To create a relief ornament, you can use thin strands of modeling clay. After the paints have dried, glue on decorative details: rhinestones, glitter, feathers, sequins. All that remains is to thread the ties through the holes and the mask is ready.
Snowmen New Year would not be complete without such a wonderful craft as a snowman. If there is no snow outside the window, then you can make it from improvised means. Snowman from cotton wool Materials and tools:
- Vata;
- PVA glue;
- Toothpicks;
- Soap;
- Food coloring;
- Small black beads (for the eyes and buttons);
- Small twigs for hands;
- Sequins (optional).
You need two pieces of cotton wool - the larger one forbody and smaller ones for the head. Now you need to wet and wash your hands and roll the cotton wool pieces into balls. Put our blanks aside for a while so that they dry completely. Dilute water with PVA glue in a ratio of 1:2. If desired, you can add glitter to the mixture. Cover the dried balls with a mixture of glitter and leave until completely dry. While our blanks are drying, we will make a carrot nose for the snowman. Take a toothpick and tightly wind the cotton wool onto the tip. Now you need to spread it with glue. Paint it with orange dye and carefully remove it from the toothpick. Grease the toothpick with glue and use it to connect our two snowballs. All that remains is to glue the nose, eyes and buttons. Small twigs will be handles. You can draw cheeks for the snowman with pink dye. If desired, make a scarf from a strip of fabric and glue a hat from colored paper. Snowman from bottle caps
You will need:
- Caps from bottles (3 pieces for each snowman);
- Acrylic paints;
- Thin satin ribbon;
- Glue gun;
- Small buttons;
- Decor at will (sparkles, etc.).
The inside of the lids should be paintedwhite. It is better to make several layers to ensure an even white color. Now you need to take a ribbon about 20 - 25 cm long and glue three caps along it with the outer side. Place them tightly next to each other, you can even apply a little glue between the sides of the caps. Make a loop from the ribbon on one side. Use paint to draw eyes, a mouth, a nose and buttons. Tie scarves for the snowmen from pieces of ribbon or thick yarn. Decorate the scarves with ordinary small buttons. They can be glued or sewn on. These are the cute snowmen we got. They will not melt, even if the fireplace is blazing on New Year's Eve. At the same time, in the next master class we will offer you to make a decorative New Year's bonfire that will not burn anyone. Decorative fireThis wonderful New Year's decor element will be a real find for those who do not have the opportunity to light a real flame in the house. Materials and tools:
- Garland (choose one that burns with a warm yellow light);
- Aluminum foil (suitable for baking, it is sold in rolls);
- Thick gauze, bandage or lace of unbleached flax (you can try to take the color of champagne or melted milk);
- PVA glue;
- Brush;
- Stationery knife;
- The stones are of medium size (rough and untreated, sea, watered not suitable);
- Branches about 3 - 5 cm thick (don't choose too straight ones, let them be curved and of different lengths).
First, wrap the branches tightly in foil.In several layers. The foil lies unevenly, do not let this confuse you. Now we take our fabric. We need strips that are not too wide, about 4 - 5 cm. Carefully process with glue and wrap our blanks. We do this in a spiral so that the next turn slightly overlaps the previous one. Wait for the glue to dry completely. Cut the blank with a sharp knife and take out the piece of wood in foil. In our hands we are left with a cloth log for our future fire. You can glue the cut or leave it as is - it's up to you.We roll up part of the garland into one ball, leavingcord with socket free. in the chosen place we lay out stones in a circle, place a garland in the center and fold our logs from fabric into a tent, as in the photo. It remains to turn on the flashlights and enjoy the spectacle.
