Create a pattern of a bulldog suit yourself, using a step-by-step instruction with photo and description
Our concern for our younger comrades is not shownnot only that they eat well, but also that they are protected from external negative factors of nature with warm comfortable clothes. In this article, we will tell you in detail how to sew a jumpsuit for your four-legged friend, a bulldog. So, let's get started. 1. We will take this proposed pattern as a basis.2.Having put a collar on the dog, without tightening it too much, we measure the distance from the edge of the collar to the bulldog's tail. The resulting figure must be divided by 8. The result obtained as a result of the division is the size of the square.
3. Transfer the pattern onto graph paper, taking into account the measurements obtained.
4. Cut out the pattern.
5.After we applied the pattern to the dog, it became clear that it was a little small for him. However, keep in mind that our pet's torso was slightly elongated, but for yours it may be just right. 6. Therefore, we had to cut the pattern into two equal parts to make the pattern longer. And this way it will be much easier to cut.
7. Then you need to lay out all the details on the fabric (we cut out all the details in two copies).
8. This part also needs to be cut and stretched to the distance you need (in our case – five centimeters).
9. Next we move on to the triangle in front. We added a little, since our dog does not have a very wide chest, and you will already look at this individually. But remember that the comfort and mobility of your four-legged friend will depend on this detail. You can add not only a triangle, but perhaps a whole strip. 10. Having made all the increases and allowances, we proceed to cutting the product. As a result, we will receive the elements of the future jumpsuit. 11. It is necessary to transfer the darts to the 2nd copy. To do this, fold the parts with the wrong side inward and tap with your palm at the dart site.
12.You need to decide what will hold the jumpsuit together. We suggest using an old dog collar as a basis. 13. You need to cut out a strip for it, which we will sew around it, and then attach everything together to the product itself. I would like to immediately note that such a collar should not be used for walking in the future, because the slightest tug can distort the entire jumpsuit. 14. In the end, it looks like this.
15. We continue to work on sweeping darts and seams.
16.We insert such a strip into the belt of the product itself. This will ensure the practicality of the jumpsuit. If it turns out to be too big for your bulldog, you can insert an elastic band, or you can try to make something similar to a belt with a buckle. 17. This point is not mandatory in our work, but we decided to create pockets in the product, onto which we will later sew buttons from the military uniform. 18. Next, we move on to working with the front side of the jumpsuit. We also made a deeper cut on it. 19. We process the chest part. 20. Sew the place of the front paws. And along the roundness line, it is necessary to make small cuts. Otherwise, the fabric will be pulled together and the product will not fit well on the bulldog's paws. 21. We create another line of folds so that the dog feels comfortable when moving. 22. If the jumpsuit is too big in the back, then you can remove the excess fabric there. 23. If the sleeves are too long, we also shorten them. 24. Thread the elastic through the sleeves. You can try sewing the elastic directly to the sleeve, or you can thread the elastic with a pin.
25. Let's move on to the clasp. For this purpose, you can use the zipper that we chose, or you can use buttons or Velcro. 26. Sew the zipper into the bulldog's overalls. 27. The excess length of the zipper should be cut off, and the ends should be folded inward. It is important to secure the ends firmly so that the slider does not slip off the zipper.
28. At this stage, we leave space for the dog to comfortably relieve itself. 29. Next, we need to trim everything with an elastic band, which will ensure that the overalls fit tightly to the dog's body.
30. For decorative purposes, you can sew on military shoulder straps or some other details.
That's it! The bulldog jumpsuit is ready! Your pet will be happy.
