How to create useful crafts for home from improvised materials

Paper garland in the form of a chain - one of the mostsimple variants of the New Year's decoration, so it is ideal for children's New Year's crafts with their own hands for the home, for example, in the kindergarten. All that is required to make a chain is colored paper, scissors and glue stick. Cut the paper into strips of the same size and show the child how to collect its links by simply gluing the ends of the strip. Do not forget to explain to the baby that before you glue a new link, the strip must be passed through the previous one. You can alternate multi-colored stripes with each other, and you can make a chain of links of one or two colors - it all depends only on children's imagination! From such a chain, a wonderful Christmas decoration for the house will turn out, besides, the child can decorate the tree with this craftsmanship.

Snowflake in quilling technique. Quilling - is the art of creating voluminous hand-made figurines from twisted strips of paper. This technique is not so simple, so it is more suitable as hand-made articles for school-age children. Materials that will be required for making snowflakes are paper, glue and a special tool for torsion in the form of a metal or wooden smooth rod with a slot. If you do not have this, do not worry - it can be replaced by a thick needle, awl or rod of a conventional ballpoint pen, only in this case it is necessary to hold the end of the paper strip while twisting. The basic figures used in the quilling technique are a simple spiral, a droplet and a heart. The spiral is a usual strip wound on the rod, the end of which is fixed with a droplet of glue. The droplet is a slightly flattened spiral on one side, here the shape is clear from the name. The heart is a modified drop, flattened from two sides. So, first cut the paper into strips. For snowflakes, you can use the usual office white color. Strips can be different - from 2 to 15 mm in width and from 15 to 50 cm in length. The size of the strips depends on what kind of snowflake you want to get as a result. And then everything will depend on your imagination. Snowflake is collected from various elements - droplets, spirals, hearts - on the principle of a puzzle. Connect the pieces, gluing them together as you want, just do not forget about symmetry. After all, you know that a real snowflake is of an exceptionally regular shape? Such a quilling - snowflake - a wonderful version of handicrafts for your home for the New Year! Applikatsiya - this is a kind of handicrafts,in which colored elements are glued to one base so that the result is a whole picture. Herringbone, which will be discussed later, refers to voluminous applications. For this craft, you will need a colored paper of green color, glue-pencil, scissors. The herringbone consists of three tiers, each of which is assembled from two parts. First draw on the paper the basis of each tier - by the way it's a quarter of a circle. The basis must be cut and pasted onto a common background, placing the tiers one above the other, as it should be a Christmas tree. Next you need to cut out colored paper circles -it will be a voluminous, the second part of our application. Circles cut in half and folded neat accordion. It is important that the "links" of the accordion are the same width, otherwise it will greatly affect the appearance of the Christmas tree. Then the accordion is straightened and glued to the base for the last "links" of the folds. The edges of the accordion should extend slightly beyond the edge of the base to close it completely. Thus, we glue all parts to all three bases. A ready Christmas tree can be decorated with balls - applique, draw a garland on it or sprinkle with glitter. Next to the furry tree, you can put a snowman, making it in the same technique applications of two or three circles of white. By the way, small details of the snowman - embers, buttons, nose-carrots or eyes - it is better to draw with pencils, because it will be difficult for a child to make such a small application.
