Create pictures and make a paper for decoupage: a master class of the basics of work
Pictures and paper for decoupage: the basics of workWhen working with decoupage, the most important thinga component of such work is considered to be the preparation of the picture. It is the graphics that form the whole essence of the work. But, few people think about the fact that the graphics must have high-quality material, the background on which the graphic element will be applied. This issue is very important in decoupage handicrafts, and today there are different ways of choosing paper, with the help of which decoupage is easy and convenient to apply. We will consider two popular solutions, on the basis of which it is easy to work with the material.
Heavy paper
One of the most popular choices amonghandicraft masters use thick paper. You need to purchase special decoupage cards that match the theme of your product. You can buy such cards in specialized stores. Cards are different. There are one-sided ones for wooden and plastic objects and two-sided ones for glass ones. Drawings based on decoupage cards can be glued to any surface. A special advantage of this type of paper is the fact that it is easy to process with scissors and then – stick it in the right place. Regardless of the background color and the material used, pictures can be applied in a variety of ways. Disadvantage of the work: The effect of a simple image overlay may occur – applications. To do this, you need to apply several layers of varnish so that the picture fits into the overall composition. So, you need to cut out the motive of the picture, and then – try it on with the desired piece of decoration. then, you need to lower our image motif into the water for 3 minutes. The paper folds in water and then straightens out. The paper will become softer and, accordingly, easier to lay on the product. Next, the motif must be blotted with a napkin and then glued to the desired area. Glue can be applied to the desired surface or to the reverse side of the paper. It is better not to create gaps on the surface; you need to glue the picture tightly. Then, the design is pressed firmly and the product is finished.
Rice paper
The main advantage of rice paper is thatThe fact is that it is very thin. Thus, after gluing, the boundaries of the pattern are not noticeable, and the material is very easy to process. Also, the paper quickly sticks to the product and does not require long drying. Disadvantage of the work: The paper has a semi-transparent layer. Therefore, gluing the pattern – a task that requires the special eye of a craftsman. In particular, you need to select a different background for each picture. We cut or tear out the outline of our decoupage work. Then, we apply the drawing to the surface that we are going to decorate. Next, apply decoupage glue or PVA glue diluted with water to the top of the design using a synthetic brush. It should move from the center of the product to its edges. This way, the picture will be fixed evenly, and air bubbles will not appear on the product.
Outcomes
Also, there is a method of overlay usingnapkins. But, this method is already slightly outdated and is not entirely convenient for implementing pictures downloaded from the Internet or new ideas for a work. Thus, using this technique, you can easily implement any graphic design on your product!
