Create a skirt for a two-in-one doll. As a result, the skirt can be turned out and there will be a completely different pattern
This is a great idea – sew for a dollBarbie skirt "two in one". It does not have a reverse side, both – facial ones, so you can just turn them out – and put it on like a new skirt. Such a transformable circle skirt! If you have leftover fabric from sewing orclothes you no longer wear – This can be used to replenish a doll's wardrobe. Sewing a circle skirt will take less than an hour. What do we need for sewing?
- Two round flaps of different fabric about 18 centimeters in diameter (in order to sew a longer skirt, cut out a larger circle)
- Roller shaped cutter or scissors curly
- Punch for 1.25 inches or simple scissors and compasses
- Disappearing tissue marker
- Scissors
- Elastic band approximately 2.5 cm wide
How to sew a reversible circle skirt?Step 1: Place two circles of fabric face to face and sew along the circumference, leaving about 5 millimeters from the edge (or the edge of the presser foot). Step 2: Cut around the seam with a curly cutter or scissors. Be extremely careful not to damage the seam in any way.Step 3:Using a compass, you should draw a circle in the center of the future skirt – and cut with scissors. If you have a suitable hole punch – apply it for this purpose. To be sure to find the center of the circle, you can fold it in four. The corner will be the center. Mark it with a marker.
Step 4: Turn the skirt inside out and iron it. Step 5: Take the elastic and fold it over the raw edge of the fabric in the center of the skirt. Sew around the circumference using a zigzag stitch.
Cut off the excess elastic. Put a skirt on a Barbie doll or invite your daughter to do it.
It's so fun to watch the girls play withwith your dolls. They love dressing them up and it's adorable! You can sew, for example, two shift skirts – and it turns out that the doll will have as many as four options for skirts!
