Instead of a typical one-piece design, a non-standard mattress consists of a large three-layer polyurethane foam block in the middle for the body, and about 10 wide strips of the same material are placed on top and bottom of the mattress. Slots between the blocks-bands allow the sleeper to stretch their arms under each other's bodies without numbness of the limbs. 
In the slot of the lower part of the mattress it is convenient to thrustheels or toes. Also, thanks to this design, the even position of the spine is maintained when the sleeper lies on his side or on his stomach. Such a non-standard mattress with slots is suitable not only for a hugging couple, but also for singles, allowing to take any comfortable position during sleep. It will be useful to people with shoulder or hand injuries, including in plaster, again due to the possibility of adopting a comfortable posture and at the same time placing the injured limb in the slot.
