For convenient functionality of the ladder to you2-3 steps are needed. They should be located from each other at a distance of 16-20 cm. From the bottom step to the floor and from the seat to the top, the distance should be the same.

We make a seat.To create a seat, you will need 2 base slats and 5 cross slats. First, process the surface until the wood is perfectly smooth. Then fasten the slats together. Mark straight lines 5 cm from the edges on both sides. Use a milling cutter to make a groove, the width of the groove should be slightly less than the base slat. To make the structure more reliable, glue the joints. In the photo below, you can see the finished version of the seat.If you don't have any slats at hand, this is a great seat.can be made from a pair of boards measuring 500 by 150 mm. They just need to be attached to each other. Next, we make the support part. For this, you need 5 slats. Two of them will provide a horizontal connection, two will be guides, and the last one will serve to strengthen the structure. It is necessary for connecting the guide slats at an angle.We make all connections using dowels.Drill holes in the ends of the slats. Their diameter should be slightly smaller than the diameter of the dowel. You also need to make holes in the slats-posts. For reliability, all the joints of our step stool also need to be glued. In the end, you should get the back of our step stool.When installing the rack, do not forget,There should be a distance between the guide rails to allow the seat support rails to be secured. The next step is to make the stairs. Before you start creating them, you need to pay attention to the fact that the flight of stairs should be secured at an angle. At the same time, all the steps are located strictly horizontally, so the grooves for them should be made at an angle. In order to mark the angle, first assemble the entire structure without connecting rails and steps on a flat surface. Set the distance between the support arrow and the bowstring to 60 cm and adjust the angle of the structure to achieve a strictly horizontal arrangement of the steps. If necessary, reduce the length of the support posts and bowstrings until the seat height is 60 cm. When finished, connect the structure using connecting rails and cut the ends of the support posts and bowstrings at the desired angle. Next, mark the location of the steps and make recesses using a router. When you fit the two stringers together, the symmetry of the grooves for the steps should be clearly visible, as in the photo below.The width of the steps should be 44 cm.and the depth is approximately 15 cm. All the grooves in which you will fix the steps should have a slightly smaller width compared to the thickness of the steps. All connections, as in the previous cases, should be treated with glue and secured with screws.Next, we assemble our stepladder chair. The final connection of all the parts to each other will be performed in the following sequence.

To the seat we mount the guide of the support post and the strings of the stairs. To ensure that the upper ends of the rails do not cling to the seat when you fold the structure, just round them.

Between the top step and the seat, secure the slats to connect the support post and the ladder at one end, and secure the other ends in the middle of the support posts.

When you assemble the entire structure of ourstep stool, varnish it for durability and convenience. In total, you need to apply 3 layers. The seats and steps need to be coated with a slightly larger number of layers. This is necessary for greater durability of the product.
