To sew a beginner tilde doll, you will need:

white and flesh-colored cotton for the doll;white cotton for pantaloons; white lace for pantaloons and dress; white organza, tulle or chiffon for petticoat; coloured fabric with a small pattern for dress; sewing thread to match flesh-coloured fabric; white sewing thread; mohair yarn for hair; narrow satin ribbon to match hair yarn; padding polyester for stuffing; paper or cardboard for pattern; pen or tailor's chalk for tracing pattern; stick for turning inside out and stuffing small details; scissors for cutting.

DIY Tilda Doll for beginners: master class

The base of the doll If you plan to continuesew tilde, you can print out the basic pattern or transfer it to thick cardboard so that it can be used more than once with ease. We transfer the pattern to thick cotton fabric of a pale flesh color. Moreover, we did not make the torso, arms and legs entirely from this fabric: we cut the lower parts of the arms and legs, as well as the torso, from white cotton fabric. We got gloves, socks and underwear. We lay out the parts in pairs for sewing.Carefully sew the parts together:First, white fabric with flesh-colored fabric, then - 2 parts of each component (arms, legs, torso). We leave a small opening for turning inside out in the limbs, and in the torso we leave the entire lower part unprotected.We turn each part inside out using wireor a thin stick, and then stuff it with padding polyester. For narrow places, it is better to pinch the padding polyester by hand into small pieces (pinch, not cut) so that it is evenly distributed in the parts, without lumps.Assembling the doll. Sew in the legs.We tuck the cuts on the lower part of the body inwards, put the legs in the right places and sew on top using a machine or by hand. We also sew the arms by hand. We embroider the eyes with black floss; we draw a blush with a red pencil, pastel or regular blush.Hair Stitching for Tilda Let's Start Creatinghair for a doll. They can be made in several ways. The easiest is to buy special hair for tilda. You can use floss, felting wool or yarn. In our case, we used black mohair yarn.We cut the yarn into pieces that are twice the lengthexceeds the desired hair length. Cut off a piece of ribbon, the length of which is equal to the distance from the crown to the neck. Place the yarn perpendicular to the ribbon so that the center of the piece of yarn falls on the ribbon. Sew the yarn to the ribbon with small stitches.This is the wig I got for Tilda.Sew a ribbon to the doll's head (namely a ribbon, not yarn). Individual strands can be secured with sewing thread in the same color as the yarn in the right places - for example, at the temples, at the base of the head, etc.Clothes We can start dressing up.First, let's sew the pants. The width of the pants is equal to half the hip circumference. Decorate the bottom with lace. Sew two rectangles, leaving slits at the top so that you can tuck the edges inward. Put the pants on your legs and sew along the leg sewing line.We make a petticoat from organza. We cut out a long rectangle, fold it in half, sew it along the side seam and gather it at the waist with a running stitch. The petticoat is ready.The dress is made of red fabric with white polka dots. Red fabric with white polka dots was found in the house. The bottom part is a half-sun skirt.Sew white lace along the hem.The width of the top of the dress is the hip and waist circumference, the sleeve length is 3/4. If the clothes are a bit loose, this will add a special charm to the overall look.We sew clothes; decorate with lace.Dressing up a Tilda doll.On the neck - a collar made of lace, fixed with a white bead and a bow made of red ribbon. We braid the hair.
