A dress made of leaves made by own hands. How to create such a dress for free.
The most charming time of golden autumn has arrived.If you have children who attend kindergarten or primary school, you will definitely be faced with the task of preparing a smart costume for the festive autumn ball. We all know for sure that the attributes of this wonderful time are various gifts of nature, which should be used when preparing such a costume. A dress made of leaves, no matter what they are, artificial or natural, can be made with your own hands, without spending extra money, and therefore practically for free. To do this, you just need to go outside, walk through the park and collect beautiful autumn leaves, a huge variety of which will fall right at your feet. The only important condition is that the leaves should be slightly damp, in no case overdried. In extreme cases, you can sprinkle them with a little water. You will need quite a lot of foliage, so take two bags with you and go for autumn gifts. Of course, you don't have to cover the entire dress with them, but just randomly glue or sew them to the dress you've chosen as the base of the costume. If you have a smart dress in a suitable color, namely reddish-yellow or brown tones, and you're not at all eager to turn it into a festive autumn costume, but want to preserve its original beauty, you can sew a spacious cape with a hood and decorate it with the prepared foliage.
In case the dress is not being prepared fora small child, and let's say a young girl, a dress model with open shoulders and a long train will look very beautiful. Using a glue gun, the leaves are glued very tightly to each other all over the dress.
It may happen that the dress with leaves suits youwill be needed in the period when there is already or not yet natural autumn foliage that can be used for decoration. Then you need to create an imitation of real leaves from artificial material. These can be paper leaves, drawn by hand and painted with paints. You can make leaves from corrugated paper or fabric of a suitable color. From fabric, you can make sewn or glued leaf appliques, or you can soak them in a starch or gelatin solution and give them a natural look. Also, having artificial branches or flowers with leaves that were previously bought in a store, you can borrow some of their decorations, carefully cutting off several leaves and attaching them to your dress.
In general, there is absolutely nothing to be afraid of if youyou will have to create a festive autumn outfit, as there are no difficulties in making it. The only thing you need to consider is that if you plan to decorate the dress with natural leaves, you need to collect and paste them over the outfit the day before the event, otherwise the leaves will dry out and will not have a very aesthetic appearance.
