We try to do everything to prepare for them and therefore, we decorate our own home, prepare various crafts, trying to highlight certain parts of our room, decorate the Christmas tree or simply: add a little magic to the room.

Of course, many things can be bought in stores, and a number of decorations that we use in our home are perfect for decorating the room. But sometimes you want to take advantage of new ideas and transform your home beyond recognition. What things can help us with this? Of course, the quilling technique. It allows you to create a variety of items that can be connected to each other. Therefore, today we will consider the topic of quilling compositions, thanks to which you can create very unique and universal paper crafts. Let's consider several options for floral and decorative quilling for a composition to prepare your home for the New Year holidays! Work idea!
Our first idea will be tothe possibility of creating a Christmas candlestick. It can also be made with paper, using handicraft skills. Flower products poinsettia - the flower of winter, as well as spruce branches - the main attribute of the holiday, and of course, cones - without which no New Year's decoration will be so close to nature. A special handicraft technique will help and tell you about the most universal and unique ways of decoration. As always, you should prepare well for work and collect all the necessary material presented below:
- Take strips of quilling paper 10 mm wide, 4 mm
- You will need a sheet of thick paper in a dark green color.
- Let's prepare a quilling tool, scissors for processing and, of course, PVA adhesive
- A regular compact disc (which is no longer needed) can be replaced with a round cardboard or corrugated cardboard applique
- Wire
- Acrylic paint in white or gouache
- Snowflakes in the form of cutouts, or cut snowflakes and half beads - for decoration
Preparing the base of the card
In order to start our work, it is necessarymake a base or foundation for the future composition in the form of a base for a candlestick, which will be completely made of paper. For this, you will need a regular CD, which you no longer need, or cardboard. We glue a dark green paper circle of thick paper to it according to size. After that, the stand itself is formed for our future candle. In our work, we will need the most ordinary, standard small candle, packed in an aluminum sleeve. This element is also called a floating candle. As the main stand for this element, it is best to take green quilling paper, using a width of 4 millimeters. We form a special roll of a tight type with a diameter of 4 centimeters for the product.
The roll must be secured to the center of the disk,using your own calculations. This preparation will be completed and now we can responsibly engage in the decoration of the product. The decoration of our candlestick will consist of incredibly beautiful snowy poinsettia flowers, which will be decorated with spruce branches, as well as cones, snowflakes. Of course, we will prepare all these elements in advance using ordinary paper. Poinsettia, as you know, blooms only during the New Year holidays and especially often - at Christmas. This is the main floral symbol of European Christmas and therefore, we will use it in our work. Poinsettia as the main flower for this type of craft was not chosen by chance. The nature of this plant is such that the petals of the flower appear just during the New Year celebration. For Europeans, this flower has long been one of the symbols of the national holiday. Thanks to its colorful bract, which is formed in the shape of a star, poinsettia also gets the name of the Christmas star. Quilling Christmas starSo, to prepare the petals of our futureproducts, we need to form a large number of "eye" elements from the shape of paper using the Quilling technique. The procedure is usual - you need to wind the roll, then let it unravel a little on the officer's ruler in diameter by 1.5 centimeters. Then, using your fingers on both sides, press the product. Then, you need to take a red strip 10 centimeters long to close it into a ring and then give it the shape of petals. Then, you need to fill the space inside the petals with eye-shaped elements as well. For one such petal, you need to place three modules. Also, there will be a small amount of space left, outwardly resembling a regular rectangle. Therefore, you need to take another eye element and turn it into a rectangle. To do this, simply squeeze the craft on other, opposite sides. You get a beautiful petal shape for work. To form one flower, you will need to make four finished petals. The flower will look voluminous and therefore, as you may have already guessed, we have to create a special cone. To do this, take paper in red shades. Then, you need to glue the shapes of three finished petals in a similar way as in the diagram. Next, you need to form two more petals, but make them smaller. Next, prepare three elements of the eye for gluing together. Press the product a little at the edges. After - you need to wrap the petal with a strip of red. Then, the remainder of one large petal in combination with two small petals must be glued to the inside of the leaf. Along the way, you need to make stamens. Take a small strip of yellow shades and cut it lengthwise. You will get two strips that we need to twist. Then, we fix the flowers, and the stamens are fixed in the center. The flower is completely ready. But, we still need to make two similar flowers in order to similarly glue them to the base to decorate the candlestick.
