How to weave spikes from beads

Master class, which we will offer you, will require the following materials and tools:

  • Beads of golden or beige color;
  • Wire 0,3 mm of golden color;
  • Floral tape;
  • Threads of yellow or beige color;
  • Wire thick for the stem.

As is known, a large number of spikeletsCalled wheat. When wheat ripens in the fields, it gives the impression of a golden sea that swayed from the wind. This is the most magnificent sight you can imagine. So, today we will produce such a miracle as wheat from beads. The master class will help us in this.
Before we begin the lesson on braiding a spikelet,Let us note that you must view the photos and videos included in our tutorial. In order for us to have a full spikelet, we need to make more than twenty grains with our own hands. We begin by taking a small string of beads and separating seventeen beads. From these 17 beads, we form and twist a loop. After that, in the same way, we make a second grain loop on the same piece of wire. We weave this second loop next to the first. Then we make a third loop next to the second.

When all three loops are woven, you need to twist themunder them the wire for several turns. We will remove the beads remaining on this piece of wire from it, and cut off the excess wire with scissors, leaving an end about 12 cm long. We will consider such a weave of three loops as one grain of the spikelet. We need to make more than 20 of these grains.
Let's continue our master class.Now we need to make tendrils for our spikelet. To do this, cut off 12 cm of wire and fold the piece in half. Place the middle of this piece between the three loops that we prepared in advance, and screw the end below. We try to make it so that the wire rises above the grains by about 4 centimeters.

We make more than twenty such elements, whichimitate the grains of the spikelet, as well as the wire-antennae. Let there be 26 of them. Let's also prepare a thick wire and yellow threads. Let's start assembling our spikelet, screwing the top with threads. For the top, take two of our parts, screwing them with yellow or beige threads to the thick wire. When the parts are screwed on, they need to be straightened and put in order. Screw the third part of the spikelet a little lower. And screw each part in the same way, gradually going down the wire until we reach the bottom.

This kind of beadwork is not at all difficult to do.It is accessible even for beginners. The weaving pattern is also very simple. When forming a spikelet, we try to make the tendrils closer to the rod and positioned vertically. When the last part is screwed on, we continue to twist the ends with yellow wire, and then complement it all with yellow floral tape. Having finished weaving, we straighten the parts again well, giving the product the shape of a real spikelet. Such braided spikelets can be placed in a flower vase. They look great with real wildflowers, such as red poppies, bells and cornflowers.

You can also make two leaves to add some flairmore realistic spikelet. To do this, take a 30-centimeter-long wire, fold it in half, and twist a two-centimeter loop in the middle. We should string beads on both ends of the wire, 50 pieces on each end. When the string is finished, make three turns on the ends of the wire, holding the beads with your hand. Straighten the wire, giving it the shape of a leaf, and cut off the unnecessary part of the upper loop. We tie the leaves to the stem using threads of a suitable color, yellow or beige.
Our master class has come to an end. We figured out how to weave beautiful spikelets from beads. Don't forget to watch the videos that are in the lesson.
