When studying the patterns, it should be remembered that allowancesare not taken into account here. The accessible patchwork technique for sewing an envelope bag involves studying the patterns and working with a separate block. The pattern of the block “Log House”In order to assemble this block into a formsquare, you need to follow the diagram above. You can use lighter fabrics for the central part of the block. Light elements are shaded with printed silk, and dark ones - with smooth silk. The picture shows exactly how to connect the blocks. The next step is to fold the patchwork block, lining fabric and backing fabric, followed by hand or machine quilting. Remember that when using silk, do not pre-wash it to avoid fading. If you use satin fabric instead of silk, the envelope bag will not be afraid of washing. Next, sew a handle and a loop to the resulting block. The next step is shown in the photo below. Fold the front sides of the block and lining and fasten with sewing pins. After that, stitch the sides along the perimeter with a machine. Do not forget that when stitching, you need to leave a small opening so that the envelope bag can be turned inside out. The following photo shows how to cut the sides of the product from the inside at the corners so that the bag has the intended shape. This procedure should be done carefully to avoid damaging the bag. After this, the product should be turned inside out and, using a blind stitch, sew up the opening. Next, place the bag down with the lining side down and, grabbing only the lining fabric, sew the lower corners, as shown in the photo below. The remaining square is folded into a triangle with the front side inward. The corners are cut in the same way, an opening is left and the procedure described above is repeated. The envelope bag is ready, all that remains is to sew on a button!
Now go ahead - conquer the world!
