Eco-design in the interior, pieces of furniture with a natural green lawn, a table with a grass cover.
Living greens have always been one of the mostcommon decorations for any interior. The most standard and banal solution is all kinds of pots and flower pots. But talented eco-designers have gone much further, and every year they present us with more and more new solutions in creating amazing natural corners to decorate our homes. A fairly innovative design solution is to recreate a green lawn on various pieces of furniture. For example, a dining or coffee table with a green lawn cover can always decorate the decor of any house or apartment.
Of course you might think thatan unnatural grass covering will be much more practical than a living one. But the point is different. Such a table with grass should carry a message of vital energy and strength, which, I believe, are so lacking in the reinforced concrete jungle. And in general, in our lives, in which lately there has been such a lack of communication with nature. Therefore, skillful eco-designers decided to give us the opportunity to organize picnics on real green grass right at home. The grass placed in such tables is real, so caring for it should be the same as for an ordinary lawn – regular watering and mowing. That is why such a countertop will always benefit if you turn a glass of water onto it, and there will be no stains left. The only downside is that the grass will have to be cut by hand. So, if you decide to choose a similar design for your interior in the form of a table with natural lawn covering, then you should definitely familiarize yourself with exactly how to make such a table at home. The frame of such a piece of furniture is made of aluminum alloy. A not very thick layer of stones is placed on the tabletop, which will serve as drainage. Subsequently, a layer of soil with grass is placed on it. Since the grass is real, it can change its color and sometimes even dry out. Everything will depend on care, room humidity, frequency of watering, availability of sunlight, etc. However, the dry part of the grass can always be replaced with a new one.
A table like this will always turn any meal intoa fun picnic, letting you feel and enjoy the living greenery right under your palms. Emily Wettstein, a Brooklyn-based industrial designer, demonstrated her own version of such a table. She put into her creation a message about the power of grass breaking through stones and concrete to the light. Looking at this table, it would seem that young grass has split the wooden tabletop into two parts.
Not so often latelythere is an opportunity to go to the park or have a small picnic on the lawn. A table like this can decorate your interior and bring a feeling of closeness to nature. As you can see, the table is divided into two parts by a smoothly curved line. And the grass, placed under the countertop in a container, grows from the crack formed. In addition to grass, flowers, oats for cats, and spices can be grown in such containers. Make your own mini garden and grow basil, cilantro, onions and much more on the table. For convenience, you can also cover your table's grass lawn with glass. It is advisable to do this in such a way that you can remove it and take care of the lawn.
A table like this would look great inat home and in office premises. To make the overall picture look more harmonious, you can additionally place pots of grass or hang similar images with green herbs on the walls.
