Cross stitch of large paintings – a labor-intensive and time-consuming process, accessible to experienced embroiderers
Cross stitching of large paintings is probably notthe easiest thing to do. It requires a lot of attention, concentration and a willingness to devote your personal time. It is better not for novice needlewomen to undertake such embroidery. It is suitable for experienced craftswomen. After all, having lost your way several times, you may simply lose interest and desire to further master this direction. Therefore, it is better to start small and learn gradually. Everything has its time. Any large cross-stitched painting will be a wonderful addition to the interior of your home and a wonderful gift for family and friends. Such a gift is expensive not only because it is made by hand, but also because all handmade things actually cost quite a lot. It is worth noting that now handicrafts are at the peak of fashion in all its forms, for example, sewing, knitting, embroidery and other types. Each of these activities has many benefits, but the most valuable in a material sense is embroidery. The creative process itself is very interesting, although labor-intensive and painstaking. In large-sized paintings, as a rule, a large range of colors is used, which should be carefully selected and monitored so as not to get lost during work. You should, of course, start embroidering large-sized canvases after you are completely confident in your abilities. Embroidery is a rather painstaking task. Also, it takes quite a lot of time, so you will not see the result as quickly as you might like. But believe me, it's worth it.Before you begin, you must be sure thatyou have everything you need. This is canvas, floss or other threads (wool or silk are used), a needle and a pattern with which you will embroider. Absolutely nothing depends on the size. In large schemes, in principle, there is nothing complicated, just like in small ones. Still, I recommend that you first familiarize yourself with the scheme in order to clearly understand and evaluate your strengths. You can buy everything you need separately or buy a ready-made embroidery kit. This will greatly simplify your task. Considering that we are talking about large-sized canvases, the finished works are more beautiful and harmonious in terms of color. After all, not every needlewoman is able to choose the right color scheme. In the event that you decide to find all thematerial, then you need to correctly calculate the size of the fabric. You need to count not back to back, but with a small margin, so that in the future you can easily design the canvas. It is advisable to retreat no less than 10 cm. It is also very important that the edges of the canvas are processed. The easiest and fastest option is using glue. It is enough to glue the edges of the canvas and they will not fray or crumble. Once the fabric is finished, let it dry. Now it's time to think about threads. It is best to take floss. These threads are designed specifically for embroidery. Floss has many advantages. They have a huge range of colors, do not fade or lose their original appearance after washing. As for the needle, it’s better to take a special one. It is thick and has a blunt end, which in turn will protect you from injury. Although it is possible to use ordinary sewing needles. In order to embroider a large picture without any problems, you need to remember some simple rules. The back side should be as beautiful and neat as the front side. You can't tie knots for this. To secure the thread, just pull the tail under the already made stitches. Only then can you trim the tip. By following these simple tips, you can create beautiful paintings that will decorate your home. In the photographs below you can see examples of such embroidered fabrics.
