Preparing woolFirst, take the wool and form it into a cone.in order to work on the felting technique. It is very important here that there are no folds, creases, or twisting of the work elements. A denser base allows for quick and easy felting movements in the future. But at the same time, the base should not be very soft. Therefore, it is better to make an effort to roll the wool, the lower it is, the more it should be added. Using our fingers, we should straighten the edges of the wool strips. The Christmas tree should come out lush and small. During felting, it will decrease. Next, we tear off pieces of wool, hold our hands close to the craft, and press the strip with our fingers, using a transverse adjustment for the surface. This should not be done close to the place where the tear was.
Then, we cover the tree with stripes in a wide pattern.form. We use squares of wool, placing them across each other, in order to hide the imperfections of folds and irregularities. This way, the tree will be smoother. The edges need to be smoothed, and the wool does not need to be cut. Next, using a sponge and our cone, we do felting until it becomes a solid mass. There are birch needles on the needle, which allow you to tangle the wool fibers, thus the felting occurs. Do not forget to rotate the tree so that it is rolled on all sides. The density of the figure should be the same, you need to poke in different places. Wet felting
Next, the tree is lowered into a basin of water.(warmed up). Blot it thoroughly. Then squeeze it out. Afterwards, on wet hands there should be liquid soap or detergent, which you distribute along each palm. Rub the tree. Initially, do it lightly. Then, rotate the product. Also, add soap. To organize a flat and stable bottom in the tree part, it should be placed on a hard surface, and felted using movements from the front to the back, scrolling with the palms. The tree should not be forgotten to rotate, otherwise the sides will come out crooked. Hands as you go, do not forget to soak, also, you need to add soap. The wool will thicken, more effort will be required.
Balls and decor Next, using the wool of anothercolors, we form balls. After we felt them, they will become smaller. A more tightly rolled ball will look better. Using a felting needle, we give the necessary round shape. The balls should also have a dense appearance and not lose their shape when pressed. It is desirable that they are of different sizes. It will look cool if a particle of balls on the tree hangs in one color, and the other - in multi-colored balls. We use a thread to sew our balls to the tree. The ball needs to be pierced through the entire base, and the knot hidden at the bottom and sewn to the tree.
