Festive decorations with their own hands, tips and advice on making pumpkin out of cloth.
There's not much time left until Halloween. And now is the right time to think about costumes and decorating your home for this holiday. This article invites you to decorate your home for the upcoming Saints' Day with the most traditional attribute – pumpkin, but in a very unconventional design. If you understand the stages of this work, then everything is not as simple as it might seem at first glance. But you shouldn’t be afraid, use the tips presented below, and you will be able to make an original decorative pumpkin with your own hands, in addition, you will improve your skills in making decorative items with your own hands.Too much to do the jobYou will not need materials and tools. Prepare the material (it does not have to be orange, choose fabric of various colors and patterns), rope, stuffing material, as well as threads, a needle and scissors. From the prepared fabric you need to cut out rectangles, which will later become cute pumpkins. When choosing a size, you need to apply the only principle: the width of the segment should be twice the length. Next, you need to fold the fabric in half with your face in the middle. Draw a line on top and on the right side at a distance of 1 cm, along which you will subsequently need to make seams.
When you have completed the last stitches, the threadshould not be torn off. Gather the fabric as illustrated in the photo by pulling the thread. Secure the material in this position by making a few stitches. The finished bag must be turned outward.
Fill it with padding material. It is best to use uniform padding. Sew a second seam along the top edge, tightening it afterwards. When doing this work, guide the edges of the fabric towards the inside of the product. Pull the thread as tight as possible and secure it with a few stitches.
Now take the rope and the needle thatwill do. Pull the needle and thread through the base of the pumpkin and point it up. This is how you get the first turn when wrapping the bag with rope, which will later make up the sections of the pumpkin. Using this method, our pumpkin can be given a flattened shape. Make about 6-8 sections, this will be enough. Finally, secure the rope.
Now you have reached the final stage –making cuttings. This will give the pumpkin a more natural look. You can take fabric of a different color for it. Cut two pieces of fabric in the shape of an oval, fold them facing inward and sew along the outline, leaving a little space for seam allowances. Leave the bottom edge unstitched so that you can later turn the part inside out and fill it with padding material. Now you can sew up the bottom edge and sew the piece to the pumpkin.
Now our decorative Halloween pumpkin is ready!
