Bead weaving is one of the mostcommon modern hobbies. Most often, this technique is used to create beautiful jewelry and weave pictures. But that's not all. A popular trend is beaded flowers and trees. Small shiny beads make original and almost "live" trees that can decorate any interior or become a wonderful gift. At the same time, weaving a tree with your own hands is not so difficult - just prepare the necessary materials and follow the pattern.
Where to find the scheme of a tree from beads
We can create a fairytale tree without a schemeIt is quite difficult for novice craftsmen. In the weaving can be a lot of "pitfalls", which are simply not known to beginners, but can significantly complicate the work. Therefore, the best way to navigate the scheme. You can find the necessary scheme of work on our website. Here you will find educational videos and master classes with step-by-step photos that will help you to understand some difficult moments of work. The diagrams indicate the most complete information about all the necessary materials: the number and number of beads (indicated in grams), the thickness of the wire, etc. The work is also fully disclosed there. The scheme details the method of making twigs, how many they need to be made for a specific model.
Getting Started
Before you start working, you cansee photos and video master classes, which explain in detail how to make a decorative tree from small beads. It is better to stock up on all the necessary materials in advance. The type, color and size of beads depend on how the finished tree should look. You need to make a Christmas tree - small green ones will do, an orange tree - combine small green beads with larger orange beads. In order to make a protective tree, you can combine beads with Chinese coins, natural stone or Turkish "eye" stones.
You will also need wire for the work. It should be stiff enough to hold the shape well, but thin enough to easily string the beads.
For decoration we will need floral paper – it will hide the wire. If you can’t buy it, in some cases regular threads will suffice.
Basic techniques of weaving trees
Weaving branches using the twisting methodDespitethe fascinating appearance of the finished tree in the photographs, making such a tree is not so difficult even for a beginner. Weaving beaded trees is not so much a difficult matter as it requires patience and perseverance. At the heart of it are the basic patterns, familiar even to craftswomen who are just beginning to study this type of creativity.
Weaving trees from beads begins with the most important thing - weaving branches. Depending on the type of tree chosen, the techniques will differ, but in any case, they are easy to master.
Weaving branches using the twisting methodThe mosta simple way to weave branches is "twisting". To do this, string beads of the desired color on the wire. You should get a regular chain. Step back from the edge of the wire, count 3 beads and twist. Repeat twisting approximately every 5 mm until the ends of the wire with and without leaves are at the same level.
After this, we twist the remaining free wire around the working one - the result should be a zigzag on the leaves.
To make the tree more lush, you can dobranches - so that the branch resembles the letter Y in shape. To do this, twist the free wire approximately in the middle, collect a chain of beads and continue working.
The result will be a branch with very small leaves. This method can be used to make, for example, birch branches.
Loops. It is done in exactly the same way as twisting. The main difference is in the quantity. Take 6 beads instead of 3 - you will get a small loop. You can take more (the quantity depends on the model). In addition, the number of beads can be the same, but in order to make a beaded tree "Wisteria", you will need to make different sized leaves on one branch - from 6 to 14.
Loop weaving method
To weave a fairy tree you canuse a pattern similar to "frost". We string 3 beads on a thread, skip one. We pass one end of the wire through the 2 remaining beads. Then we string 2 beads on one end of the wire, skip 1, and pass the wire. Do the same on the other end. Then we connect both ends of the wire, fix it with 1 bead. You should get 2 "needles". We repeat the weaving the required number of times, as required by the pattern. You will get branches from which you can assemble a Christmas tree. A beaded fern will look very original - the branches can be made according to the same pattern.
As you can see using basic techniquesbeading, trees can be woven quickly and easily. If beginners have difficulties with making their first crafts, photo master classes and training videos are created to help them.
Collect the tree
The number of twigs for each craft can beDifferent. If in order to make a birch you need to make 49 branches, then for some models they will need more than 100. The exact number is always indicated in the diagram or description.
When all the branches are ready, you can startAssembling the craft. To do this, twist 2 branches together, then add the rest 1 at a time. Wrap each resulting large branch with 2 cm of floral tape. Connect the large branches together, wrap them again with summer tape so that the trunk is smoother. Each large branch also needs to be connected to a solid base. For this, use a rigid rod, if you do not have one, you can twist several wires or use any materials at hand: a wooden skewer or pencil. Wind the large branches to the base, cover the wire with floral tape. If desired, it can be replaced with threads, and silk will look most impressive. Some craftswomen use gypsum to process the trunk: with its help, you can make the tree even more realistic. But using this material requires experience that beginners do not have. To learn all the intricacies of this work, you can watch a master class on making trees from beads with step-by-step photos or a training video.
When the bead tree is completely ready, itall that remains is to “plant” it in a regular pot or any other suitable container and secure it with plaster, plastic or plasticine. After that, all that remains is to give the tree the necessary shape, decorate it with additional elements: for example, cover the plaster with beads, beautiful stones. That’s it – the beaded tree is ready. The result is definitely worth the effort. And thanks to the simplicity of the technique, the weaving process itself is very exciting and interesting, and there is also the opportunity to quickly build a whole garden of fairy-tale trees.
How to avoid mistakes in work
Even with a strict adherence to the scheme,The probability of obtaining in the end is not the same tree that I would like to see. If this happens, there is a chance to quit your job. It is especially important not to lose the spirits of masters who are just beginning to learn beadwork.
To make exactly that tree from beads and not make a mistake, you can look at step-by-step photos on the Internet or video master classes. But the right attitude to work is no less important.
Experienced craftswomen, authors of courses and trainingMaster classes advise to allocate time every day that can be spent only on handicrafts. Attempts to weave crafts in between daily activities or in parallel with watching your favorite movie usually lead to the fact that nothing works out. Handicrafts are put on the back burner, and creating a tree remains only one of the items in the plan. Therefore, oddly enough, following a system is also important in a hobby. You can allocate at least a little time every day - even 10-15 minutes, but this will allow you to distribute the work and not abandon it due to lack of free time. You should not try to weave a bead tree in one evening. Despite all the simplicity, this work is quite monotonous, requires attention. In addition, with long work with beads, the eyes get very tired.
Another common mistake is “let’s get rid of the old onebeads". A fairly economical strategy, but does not always guarantee a good result. Beads, like any creative material, can lose their appearance over time, and as a result, the work will not look its best.
The third mistake also comes from this: “onlyI'll try." Such an attitude makes you take the work not seriously. Initially, it begins to seem that the craft is just a "rough draft", but the next one will definitely be successful. In fact, when the beaded tree turns out not at all as you would like, the fighting spirit is lost.
Sakura from beads own hands
In conclusion - a small master class: we will make
.Pink beads are most often used for work to get a blooming sakura. But this is not an axiom: you can use red beads (the tree will be autumnal), and green. In total, you will need about 200 grams. To make the tree more realistic, you can use beads of two shades.
Let's move on to weaving the branches of the craft. To make 1 leaf, string 6 beads on the wire and twist. Leave 1 cm, string 6 beads again. In total, you should get 11 leaf-loop. Twist the branch starting from the top or bottom, as is more convenient.
We make the rest of the branches in the same way. The more you make, the more lush the sakura will be. Usually, 70 to 100 small branches are made for a beaded tree.
Next, take 3 branches-blanks and twist them together. You will get one large branch. Twist 2 large blanks together - this will be the upper branch of the sakura branch. There should be 2 of them.
To make one middle branch, take 3 large blanks and twist them together. There will be 3 middle branches in total.
You can make 2 or 3 lower sakura branches. To do this, twist 5 blanks.
Let's move on to assembling the tree. Take the base - thick wire, and screw the upper branches. Wrap it with floral tape.
Attach another wire a little lower, attach the middle branches. Wrap the trunk with tape again. Fasten the base with the lower branches even lower, wrap with tape or floral tape.
The tree itself is ready. Now we install it in the mold, bend it slightly, fill the mold with alabaster. We treat the tree trunk with the same solution. In order not to damage the leaves, they can be covered with foil. When the solution is completely dry, we cover the trunk with paint, and then with varnish. When the trunk is completely dry, you can remove the foil and straighten the branches beautifully.
Taking into account all possible errors and having familiarized yourself withmaster class, weaving a tree with your own hands is not so difficult. There are a lot of models of beaded trees - you can weave the usual apple trees, fir trees, sakura, etc. Or you can create an unusual tree with your own hands, as if from a fantasy world (for example, the same whispering tree Eywa). The principle of weaving in any case will be general, which means that it will not be difficult to cope with this work. The main thing is to connect your imagination and not be afraid to experiment.
