Grass under the fingers: a wooden keyboard

Do you often have the urge to run barefoot?grass instead of walking on the floor in shoes? Life in the world of advanced technology displaces nature from our environment, replacing it with artificial, inanimate materials. Designer Robbie Tilton decided to change some frequently used object and bring it as close to nature as possible, both visually and tactilely. This is how an unusual wooden keyboard with grass appeared!Wooden keyboard with grassWireless wooden keyboard is nothing specialfunctionality is no different from its factory plastic brothers. The entire assembly process of this keyboard is fine handwork. The frame and keys are cut out of wood using a laser cutter. Symbols, letters and numbers are also applied to the keys using a laser. The main highlight of this keyboard is the soft grass covering! Of course, I would like to say that the grass on the frame is real, as follows from the whole philosophy of the concept of a natural keyboard. But this is not so! The keyboard is covered with an artificial imitation of a type of moss! Initially, the plans included real moss that could grow between the keys. But the designer was limited in time and did not find a suitable type on time. Therefore, an artificial covering was used to demonstrate the concept. But this is even for the best, since such a keyboard can be used right away, but would a keyboard with real grass be functional?Wooden keyboard with grass coverIn any case, the idea is wonderful! I would be very pleased to work with such a natural keyboard, every moment reminding me of soft grass.Wooden keyboard with grass cover The process of creating a wooden keyboard with your own hands Wooden keyboard with your own hands using a laser cutter Wooden keyboard with your own hands using a laser cutter Wooden keyboard with own hands Wooden keyboard with own hands
