Green house on the slope of the mountain
Chilean Architectural Studio Vashodesigned a modern green house in the picturesque highlands of the Dominican Republic. The house, located on a steep slope, fits organically into the surrounding landscape, merging with greenery, earth and sky. The mansion is partially hidden in the ground, and the roof is covered with grass, so the view from the top of the hill to the neighborhood is not spoiled by architectural delights. A remote from the civilization green house isA great place for seclusion, relaxation and intimacy with nature. The mansion is designed to accommodate 18 people, but the total area of premises and terraces of 500 sq. M gives a sense of space and freedom, even when the whole group is assembled.
The kitchen, dining and living areas are combined into oneA large open space, the shapes of which follow the natural lines of the surface of the hill. Each bedroom is equipped with a bathroom and a comfortable place for study / creativity / work. The open terrace covers the entire green house, revealing a magnificent view of the valley. The terrace has a small swimming pool with a Jacuzzi. This is one of the favorite places of rest for the guests of the mansion.
In the decoration of the residence, natural materials - wood of different breeds, stone, marble and the like - were used as much as possible. Nevertheless, both the exterior and the interior look very modern.
The idea of hiding part of the house in the hill is notonly an aesthetic component of architecture. The hidden premises of the mansion are in contact with the rock of the hill, creating a cooling phenomenon known as thermal inertia. The green roof with a layer of soil and grass also protects the interior of the house from excessive heating even on the hottest day.
