In this article you will learn how you can usekanzashi techniques to make original bright rubber bands. We offer you several options for creating a kanzashi rubber band. One of these rubber bands will be called “Hedgehog”. To make it, you will not need too much time and skills, because it is created very simply.
To work you will need:satin ribbon (two and a half meters wide); elastic band; ruler; threads; glue; decor (rhinestones, beads, etc.); needle; scissors; lighter; tweezers. Step-by-step instructions Step #1. Before you start creating the hedgehog, you need to make small pieces of ribbon. The edges along the pieces also need to be trimmed.
Step #2: All pieces of tape should be shaped into triangles and their edges should be burned with a lighter or candle flame.
Step #3: All triangles must be carefully turned inside out so as not to damage their integrity.
Step #4.Next, you need to create 3 levels from the resulting triangles: the first level is nine triangles, the second level is eight triangles, the third level is seven triangles.

The place that we are processing can be pressed with tweezers for greater reliability. Then you need to trim the bottom edge to ensure the evenness of the petal. The edge is treated with flame again. All the petals should be strung on a thread. Check if all the petals are positioned correctly, secure the thread, and trim all the edges.
Let's move on to creating a flower, whichplace it in the middle of the main one. To do this, we need to take a brown ribbon made of satin fabric and one ribbon made of nylon fabric (two and a half centimeters wide), make five squares. Process the edges. Separately, you need to fold the squares in half into triangles, and then put them on top of each other. The layer of light nylon should be the second from us. Then bend the corners to the middle. Again, fold the workpiece in half so that the corners converge with each other on the opposite side. Process the edge with a candle or a lighter so that it does not crumble. The place that we are processing can be pressed with tweezers for greater reliability. Then you need to trim the lower edge to ensure the evenness of the petal. Process the edge again with a flame. As a result, you get five petals. From a ribbon of nylon material of a light shade, you need to cut out five squares and process them in the same way as the previous ones. Next, you should string large and small petals on a thread, alternating them. By analogy with the previous points, we create pointed petals from brown and light-colored ribbon. Cut off the excess, burn the edges. You will get five petals. After this, you need to take a hair elastic, cut a circle with a diameter of three and a half centimeters from a small piece of felt.
In the middle of this circle, create a small cut.Wrap the elastic band with the ribbon and insert the edges of the ribbon into the cut of the circle. Glue the edges of the ribbon. Apply plenty of glue to the circle and attach the main flower. Attach the 2nd flower with petals made of nylon fabric to the center. The five petals that we made last should be attached between the petals of the main flower. Make sure that these petals do not overlap the nylon petals. Attach a beautiful detail to the center: a rhinestone, a bead, beads, etc.You can also connect all the petals using glue.
