Handy for the house: stand under the hot from the wood on the Competition 2015, useful handmade crafts
Wooden stand - an indispensable kitchen iteman accessory necessary to protect surfaces from hot pans and pots. Original and functional coasters can be made with your own hands.To work you will need:
- wooden squares of square section (1 sq. cm);
- smooth branch, 3-3.5 cm in diameter;
- sandpaper (medium and fine);
- hacksaw for metal;
- glue for wood.
The first step is to cut off 6 pieces of the slats12 cm long. We process the cut areas and the surface of the slats with sandpaper until smooth, otherwise you can hurt your skin when using it on the stand. Now you need to mark the places for the grooves on each slat. Place the first 2 marks at a distance of 2.5 cm from the edges of each slat. The next marks are at a distance of 3.5 cm. The last 2 marks are at a distance of 5.5 cm from the edges. Thus, 3 segments of 1 cm will be marked on each slat. The next step is to cut three grooves (they are marked with segments of 1 cm), the depth must be made 0.5 cm. If you do everything carefully enough, connecting all six slats, you will get an even lattice. To prevent the product from crumbling, the slats must be glued with wood glue and put the workpiece under a press for a day to dry.While the stand is drying, you need to cut it out of the branch9 round pieces 0.5 cm thick with a hacksaw. After sawing, the round pieces also need to be processed with sandpaper until smooth. After the workpiece has dried, it remains to glue the round pieces onto it, placing them at the intersections of the slats. Then the product is again placed under the press until dry. If the surface of the resulting stand is uneven, this can be corrected with sandpaper. The stand is ready. If desired, it can be decorated with burning, varnished or left as is - in its natural form.
